Andy Garcia and Chinese Star Duan Yihong have joined the cast of Iron Sky: The Ark, marking the most prominent actors to attach their names to the cult comedy sci-fi franchise.
Garcia, an Oscar nominee for his performance in The Godfather: Part III who recently appeared in Dean Devlin's Geostorm, will play William Russell, an Illuminati mastermind billionaire.
Duan, who just picked up the best actor award at the Tokyo International Film Festival for his starring role in Dong Yue's thriller The Looming Storm, plays the Greenwood scientist Fang Mingtao.

Forging on while still ahead in the game, Finnish director Timo Vuorensola, known around the world for his Nazis on the Moon movie, Iron Sky, is already working on a third chapter called Iron Sky The Ark. The second chapter in the series, The Coming Race, is currently in post. Iron Sky: The Ark is a new instalment in the Iron Sky franchise. It tells the story of two Chinese university dropout audiophiles who set out on a quest to decode a mysterious message received from the Moon, but quickly find themselves fighting against the mother of all conspiracy theories – the Illuminati. Iron Sky producer Tero Kaukomaa has revealed further details of the first Chinese film in the Iron Sky franchise.
Iron Sky: The Ark is already in pre-production. It will be directed by Timo Vuorensola, and will be shot 70% in Chinese.
China Film Corporation Limited, Jiabo Culture Development Co. Ltd, Iron Sky Universe are producing the film in association with Pan Pan Pictures Co Ltd and Longevity International Enterprises Ltd.
