Matchmaker

Warning: Spoilers
I love The Twilight Zone, I love anthology series, so I was excited for this one.

This was a solid start to the series. We were introduced to a quirky world which is perfect for this show. The premise here was interesting and we were thrown a twist because we all thought Lea Michele would be the robot, not Robert Buckley, but it was a clever concept.

Then things got really weird. The clones, and the lame ending with the revolt just didn't work for me. Not enough to ruin the episode, I still really liked it, but it was a bad ending.

Unoriginal but nevertheless enjoyable

As the opening show of the Dimension 404 series this had a lot of weight on its shoulders; people would be assessing whether to continue to watch the series or not on the evidence of this episode. On the whole it served its purpose well.

Adam is a young guy seeking his ideal mate. His roommate recommends a dating agency called Matchmakers and Adam is persuaded to go on a date when the agency finds a perfect match for him. Both he and his date hit it off and after a couple of months Adam is so convinced that she is his soulmate that, against the advice of his roomie, he decides to tell her he loves her.

Let's just say it's not the wisest decision he ever made and the consequences of his declaration of love prove shockingly life-changing in ways he could never have imagined.

As I said I found the show very watchable and I shall certainly continue to watch the series. I have to say though that if the makers are not paying royalties to Charlie Brooker and Black Mirror then they should be. This isn't up to the standard of its great original but it's definitely worth a watch.

Very Original and Unique!!
CosmicTraveler22211 September 2019
So first of all, this episode has definitely way too little Reviews, and the one saying its unoriginal,is basicly someone who doesn't know how to appreciate something completely new and unique on its own!!

This episode has everything you need in an Anthology Show,as the episode goes on,you only have more questions and keep wondering what it is all about.Very unique and fun way to approach a story of Dating Online.

It portrays the sad truth of how people always seek to find a "Perfect Match" in their lives, thinking that love only works if you are with a partner that suit every little bit of your vision of how he/she should be.Im not even going to explain what the episode is about, because it would spoil it completely. All that i am going to say is that what i found so dear in this episode is the message that No matter how much you feel lonely and feel that you are not 'Enough' if you don't have a Life partner, you are so wrong, you don't need anyone to be who you already are,you do not need your other "part" to be happy in life, you should embrace who you are without having the need to fill the holes with other people, always searching to be with someone thinking thats the only thing that will bring you happiness, Just because you think that being alone is not enough.First you need to make sure that you are happy because of you, that you love yourself enough not to settle for anything less than true love.Love is already within you,so no matter what happens, you will always have YOU.

The story is boring, It tries to be funny but isn't. There's no way on this planet that it should get anything higher than MAYBE 3 stars.

Disturbing

Warning: Spoilers
A lesson in the dangers of looking for perfection & playing God. Might've been better if the people who kept creating their "perfect" matches & rejecting them were presented with the misery of the rejects & if there hadn't been gratuitous use of G.d. Why is offensive but using the Lord's name in vain isn't? Another example of the wickedness of Hollywood.

Misses the point

This better captures the selfish unlikable views of most people today. It tries to get us to sympathise with the real villains instead of them learning the lesson they need to learn. This is no Twilight Zone (original)
