With his laid back demeanor and well researched yet understandable approach to telling Video Game History, Norman Caruso AKA The Gaming Historian is enjoyable to watch. It's cool to see him talk about old and obscure games and add ons such as the Aladdin Deck Enhancer and the Sega Genesis. Even if you didn't grow up with some of the stuff he did you still may appreciate how he presents these rare finds.

He even talks about various video game characters and their origins such as Spyro, and Sonic as well as sheds even more light on the infamous publishing company LJN which interestingly shows it in a different light. You see he mentions how a youtuber named The Angry Video Game Nerd made them an antagonist of his show while another named The LJN Defender tries to see if the games they published have anything enjoyable about them. The Historian then discusses the company in a neutral light. Interestingly, it's downfall was the toys they made rather than their games which were infamous for having poor controls, insanely difficult levels and usually had little to do with the source material. I thank him for making me see them in a different light as it seems the chairman Jack Friedman was an interesting guy.

I really hope he continues making them because they are entertaining as much as they are educational which is how education should be regardless of the material being taught. I highly recommend you check it out. I guarantee you'll like it whether you're a Gamer, History buff, both or just someone who likes to surf the web. Take it for what it's worth and see for yourself.
