Director Errol Morris made a string of commercials for ESPN about how far some sport fanatics are willing to go. These commercials were so successful that the company asked him to make a series of short films that take a look at the more comical side of fans.

CHROME tells the story of Steve Coburn, a man who was pretty much your typical American worker until one day when he decided to get into horse racing. After a series of events he ended up with a horse he named California Chrome and soon that horse was going for the Triple Crowne. Morris opens up this short by saying this is a love story between a man and a horse and that's pretty much what this turns out to be. Coburn talks about what the horse has done for his life and how much it has changed since the horse was born. Coburn got into some heat for comments he made after Chrome didn't win the Triple Crowne and he addresses that here. Once again Morris takes his style and transforms this story into a pretty interesting tale. It's certainly entertaining and especially how Morris shows the love that Coburn has for this horse.
