This film was an official selection for the Project Sci-fi competition in Sydney in 2013. Some of the scene changes were influenced by "The Life of Pi," also combined animation with a live actor. However, the film is focused on exploring a romance between machine and human and the consequences of this. It has drawn interesting differences of opinion according to gender. Men have criticized the female lead's lack of emotion while several women can appreciate her subtlety. The film also drew unintentional laughter from the original cinema audience. I liked it because Lorraine, the female lead, showed that as an actress she can really reign in her emotion compared to her more dramatic moments in the film "1010." I also like the weirdness of the robot heads and the relationship between the chrome head robot and the scientist who was great at making us believe in her interaction with the robots - even though largely performing alone.
