Much of the film takes place after a devastating meteorite strike; survivors must live below ground, or face the radiation and infection above. For the first hour, everything story-wise comes across well. Then, the tone shifts from a serious dramatic thriller to an overly sombre series of scenes. This shift, in tone, is a bit disconcerting. Opening night will feature Michael Mailer’s newest film, “Blind,” a romantic-drama, starring Alec Baldwin, Demi Moore and Dylan McDermott. Closing night will wrap up the festival with “Albion: The Enchanted Stallion,” a family fantasy adventure, starring John Cleese, Debra Messing, Jennifer Morrison and Stephen Dorff.
Retrospective Screenings will include Daphne Zuniga appearance at the festival honoring the 30th anniversary of “Spaceballs.” Also in this category will be “The Greatest Show on Earth,” from 1952 directed by Cecile B. DeMille, which won the Oscar for Best Pictures and Best Writing in 1953. The screening will honor the closing of the Ringling Bros.

It has been two years since there has been news of Last Broken Darkness, on 28Dla. Since 2014, this post-apocalyptic thriller has completed production, launched a trailer and set-up a World Premiere. Post-production was completed in January of 2017. As well, an immersive trailer fro the film was just launched in late 2016. Now, the film is slated for a first showing in Boston, at the Boston Sci-fi Film Festival. Fans of indie thrillers are encouraged to take a look at the film's latest material here. In the story, a meteorite shower has obliterated the Earth. Survivors hunker deep below ground, while ravenous ghouls roam top side. Now, Sam (Sean Cameron Michael), Troy (Brandon Auret) and Rose (Suraya Santos) must find a way to survive as cannibals infiltrate their camp. Can friendship overcome these bloody challenges? A new post-apocalyptic thriller, titled Last Broken Darkness, will begin shooting in South Africa. The film involves a meteor shower, which reduces humanity to near extinction. But, several survivors find refuge underground. This title will star Sean Cameron Michael (Chappie, "Black Sails") and Suraya Santos. Christopher-Lee Dos Santos will direct. A preview for the film is hosted here. As well, a concept poster has been released for Last Broken Darkness. The graphic shows washed out colours as two characters run from danger. Meteorite streaks can be seen in the sky and the setting has been reduced to ashes. More on this film will be released, once shooting begins, shortly. Release Date: Tba.
