The writers really hate Ty...

Why else would they make him, time after time, after time, after time, *always* take the weakest possible path when it comes time to make an important decision? He's the main 'gelding' in this series, and this episode, more than other, totally proves it. He can't seem to avoid a train wreck, and volunteer for them at every turn. I get it that it's all a soap opera set over a horse backdrop, but wow. You'd think at some point, an actor would say, please give me some choices that make sense for a sentient human to make, or write me out of the show. About the only character in the show that makes rational decisions more often than knee-jerk ones is Jack, and he only manages that about 52% of the time.

Ty was treated very poorly

I agree with the previous comment about how poorly Grahams character Ty was treated in seasons 3 and 4 and again in seasons 7 and 8 by the writers and producers which included Amber/Amy. In any realistic relationship Ty would have walked away from Amy after she was consistently unfaithful to him and then lied to him and hid the truth. The storyline became too ridiculous to be believable. Unfortunately Ty was locked in by the writers to always take the blame and forgive Amy for all her many faults. Amy alwsys played the victim and never had to accept any responsibility for her infidelity or apologize to Ty. Once again totally unrealistic.

I also believe it contributed to his decision to leave the show shortly after season 8. He may have not wished to be type caste as Amy's simp or the Cuckold of Heartland. In my opinion!
