When the Elvis Presley impersonator George Tabin is found dead on the bench of a bus stop, Sara and Greg process the crime scene. They follow the blood trail and find a dead rook. Greg, who was a nerd and captain of the chess team in high school, associates the murders to a chess board. Greg uses his knowledge in chess to find the primary crime scene in an abandoned car. Soon they learn that there is a chess tournament at the Mediterranean and the participants become suspects. The tournament director Jenny Carroll cannot believe that any participant could be a killer and provides a list with their names. Soon the CSIs find that there are other victims in the route of the chess tournament and Greg consults his old friend and chess mentor Paul Lomax about the movements. He recognizes the dispute between Karl Schrute and Troy Parker, when the latter committed a mistake and lost the championship in 1998. Now Troy Parker becomes the lead suspect of the police.
"Killer Moves" is an episode of "CSI" dedicated to chess' fans that will certainly love this episode. The development of the story is good, but the conclusion is disappointing, with the identity of the killer and her motives. The song of Jon Anderson and the Yes is a plus in this episode. My vote is seven.
