A great story, funny and touching.

For a film that cost next to nothing to produce 'The Grendel Toots' oozed with class. Everything about the film worked fantastically, from its soundtrack (written for the film) to the cast the film was one of the strongest short films I have seen in years! strong writing and direction combined with great performances brought this touching and funny film together fantastically proving that its not all about the budget. Well done cast and crew for a delightful film. Paul Barber (Denzel, Only Fools and Horses) played his role sensitively and was a joy to watch, Red Madrell (Kidulthood) was believable in her role as Pauls Granddaughter and Julian Lee Seager was a triumph in his role as the films title character The Grendel. The production design of the film was very strong with believable sets, costumes and some nifty prosthetic make up. All in all the film although only running at thirteen minuets long was a pleasure to watch, if you get the chance to see this then I would highly recommend it. Until then the film has a strong web presence so look for the site and catch up on when and where it will be shown.
