The Winner's Had Talent Even Though They're Not British
Theo Robertson8 June 2013
Oh dear what a dreadful lumpen show BGT is , a show that manipulates people in to voting for something unimportant . Isn't it obscene that people continually sit in the pub whining about the state of the nation and bleat that " I don't vote because voting changes nothing " but are more than happy enough to spend money phoning up a vote line on these talent shows and this year's takes audience manipulation to new lows The semi finals were composed of Francine Lewis , a female impressionist who was literally famous for 15 minutes several years ago and kids who would almost invariably win down to the " Oh aren't these kids cute so let's vote for them " so you've got a final composed of kids , one of which is Jack Carroll a victim of cerebral palsy who is arguably the most unfunny comedian you'll ever see . Honestly if Jack said he wanted to be the new Usain Bolt I'd have found that easier to believe than his aspirations to be a comedian

So the performers performed for the final . Francine was as irritating as she was attractive , Jack made a few jokes about horses which had all the appeal of a cold Findus ready meal , opera singers and full time sandwich makers Richard and Adam had someone throw and egg at them and most of the rest of the field were of no interest to anyone except their parents or the male cast of CORONATION STREET

We got down to the top three which was composed of shadow dance group Attraction , Jack " the obvious straight man in a comedy double act " Carroll and the singing sandwich makers with Attraction being voted as winners even though they're Hungarians . How did non Britons win a show that has the words Britain in the title ? I don't know but they were talented unlike most of the acts that had the word Talent in the title
