A Different plot but very good
jakersacres30 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is a story of parents and child relationships. Light on the RomAnce side but the overall outcome of the story in the end was well balanced. It could have needed a few more scenes focused on yang zi and Xu Kai's relationship, but the storyline about mother and daughter and grandmother made me cry.

It is a strong story about family values of an Asian family which most of us Asians can relate. If people are looking for a slobber romance drama, this is not it. There is romance but it is well balanced with the actual goal of the story.

I know that people rate dramas by how romantic and loving a couple in the plot is but if you are more exposed to different types of plots, you will find this refreshingly different.

Congratulations yang zi and Xu kai!

"Best Choice Ever" is a heartwarming rom-com about a young Asian woman's journey to self-discovery, love, and navigating the complexities of family expectations.

Like many of us with Asian parents, 'Best Choice Ever' struck a chord with me. It portrays the familiar dynamic of strict, loving, and perhaps a tad greedy (let's be honest!) Asian parents through the relatable character of Mai Chenghuan. We root for Chenghuan as she navigates her overbearing mother's expectations, yearning for independence while acknowledging the deep love beneath the surface. The show's true beauty lies in its portrayal of self-growth. Chenghuan's journey isn't about defying her mother, but about discovering her own voice and carving a path to success on her terms. It's a testament to the power of self-empowerment, and the character development is truly heartwarming. By the end, you'll be cheering for Chenghuan as she finds not only professional fulfillment but also love that transcends cultural expectations. 'Best Choice Ever' is a delightful rom-com wrapped in a coming-of-age story, making it a must-watch for anyone who's ever felt misunderstood or yearned to break free while cherishing the love that binds them.

Worth watching

Warning: Spoilers
At first I didn't expect anything from this drama but it has surprised me. Tbh this is the best modern Chinese drama in 2024 so far. I am in 26 episode now and I am watching it without skipping a part. The storyline and acting is next level. FL Mai Cheng Huan ( Yang Zhi ), I didn't watch many of her dramas, I watched only Go go squid where she was so cute and childish , but I am really impressed with her by the way she portrayed her character in this drama. She killed it by her acting skills. ML ( xu Kai ), Although he was cold in first two three episodes but later he became very polite to the FL. Both leads chemistry are so beautiful. This is not the drama where Ceo ML fall for the employee FL, it's totally different very realistic. It shows how you value your family and how much you love them. Although many people doesn't like the FL mother for her annoying character but I really like her acting. She portrays the character so beautifully that people get angry with her whenever her scenes appear in the drama. I really can't wait for other episodes.

My opinion

Warning: Spoilers
Before I say congrats to yangzi and all team..

This drama perfectly shows the mix of sweetness and bitterness in a family... Very good and quality drama.. where the characteristics of each actor and actress correspond to their respective portions.

Every plot of the story is very real like everyday life.. there are lots of lessons that we can enjoy from each episode.. I really admire the role of Mai Chenghuan as well as the others.

Really the best choice ever just like the title of the drama.

From Indonesia .. I know Yangzi will never disappoint me that's the reason I love him since I first followed him on AOL.. I hope that one day I can meet my favorite idol.. I really admire her with all my heart.

Yangziii wo ai ni.

Cringed the Binge
renapgarcia28 April 2024
I think I fast forward through, at least 20 minutes worth of cringe per episode.

It wasn't fun... it wasn't the best choice ever. The whining Mom, I would've just shot her if she was my mother. The weak father, which seems to be every single Asian drama, the father is always the weak one, stepped on by the mother or pushed around or hit... ridiculous.

The writing was subpar, the acting was subpar, but you can only act with what you're given and they were given a not very good script. The main characters I've seen them another TV shows and I thoroughly enjoyed them... this one I could not even force myself to enjoy it.

I'm only four episodes in and I really don't wanna even finish it. That's how bad it is.

Parent Child Relationship Show-No Romance
ztpvjmrt24 April 2024
I am disappointed. This is a series about children and their mothers. No romance at all which is what I like in these shows. That being said, there is no chemistry between the two leads. They seem like great friends and not a couple in love. The lead actress's mother in the show is too whiny. Her brother looks like he's 12yrs old dating a 35 yr old. I am fast forwarding through a lot of it. I will see it through to the end since I've invested so much time watching already. The entire series is longgg and drawn out. Not sure what message they are trying to send but it's boring. The lead actress is very monotone. She has no expressions & is just blah. I'm sorry I started this series and will not be a show I recommend.
