Samantha saves this episode
smg-0639725 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Samantha's cameo appearance in this episode is everything - with a nod to a past episode- as brief as it was - was more than I was expecting and definitely worth the wait. Totally still true to her Samantha character. So pleased everyone involved was able to make this happen :-)

Have only watched the new series to follow on the stories of those I loved from the tv show - haven't taken a liking to the new characters.

Nice to see Charlotte being a reminder of who she used to be, not sure what's going on with Miranda, and as for Carrie and Aidan no idea what hats happened there - didn't even understand that ending, are they together are they not, will they be together in 5 years?

And does this mean carrie doesn't have to give up her apartment since she has to wait 5 years?

Hope season three is the best so far and hope they include more Samantha - it just felt right having her in this episode.

Better season

Warning: Spoilers
This last episode was well put together, it seems that they thought the series would end with this. I wonder how they would top this. But I do love the characteristics of the original characters brought into modern times and intertwined with new characters. I think I am interested to see where they take brady and lily, and how theyre going to keep aiden and carrie together. However I thought samanthas cameo was a waste of time. It was cute with the annabel browstein reference but she decides to take an overnight flight for the last supper instead of coming back for big's funeral? Also I first thought bringing back stans story was a waste of time but i guess it was to bring closure with him and anthony since thats was the episode was about. Keep it up with the series so I can have a longer marathon when i want to watch the whole series from the very beginning.

A perfect ending to the season

Warning: Spoilers
This really capped off the season beautifully. Sad part is that right when it's getting back to the old sex and the city, the season ends! I screamed when they had Samantha shown. Fingers crossed that she comes back to play the character again. I love her!! I love how the writers summed up all the girls problems during the season. From Seema, to Miranda and to Carrie and so on. Anthony and his man was a cute little flair and the comedy relief. The dinner Carrie hosted was perfect, and I loved seeing all the characters all in the same room. I can't wait for season 3 and see where the Aidan and Carrie arch goes as well as all the other girls. Bravo!!

OMG SAMANTHA IVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY!

Warning: Spoilers
They did good!

Carrie softened! That was needed!!! That kitty helped too! Carrie appreciating Aiden as she finally grew up... Samantha Was Fabulous AND SO BROUGHT BACK THE FLAVOR I could have Cried seeing her! AND I WANT MORE!!!!!

I'm loving how Miranda, too, Is back with her fashion, her flair, finding herself and slipping into life not running from it! Just miss her fluffed up red hair! Love her on the BBC, her moments with Steve and her class with Che.

Charlotte and Harry what a great couple with realistic life issues. Charlotte has grown too!

Lisa & Herbert very heartfelt with their love another portrayal of challenges in a family.

Seems & Ravi! Oh her fear is very relatable but this is very welcoming and Carrie Showed up for her! The old Carrie is back and her sweetness... I loved her pickup up Samantha's call.... I was in Heaven! Ok I'm rambling! Anthony & Giuseppe, again love & chances, the nod to Stamford, may he RIP. Nya & Toussaint Very nice! My highlight was Samantha it brought me back, made me happy SHE is the missing LINK. I think the most beautiful woman I've ever seen is Nicole Ari Parker, she's a walking piece of art! I'm glad that Carrie & Aiden are being mature and realistic yet proving love never dies... Aiden doing the right thing as a father... Carrie offering Lisette the apartment by passing the torch..I'm impressed... Now bring back Samantha I don't care What you have to do... just seeing her and hearing her BREATHED LIFE BACK INTO THIS AND THANK YOU CARRIE FOR WELCOMING HER!!!!

fairytale

Warning: Spoilers
Are you telling me that a grown up person (50+) such as Aiden is not capable of balancing his life between being a father and a lover?! And he is asking Carrie to wait for him for 5 years even though she suggested coming to visit him instead of him flying to NY? It's ridiculous! Honestly this TV show is something new, and not in a good way. It's like a new genre depicting the characters' most ridiculous decisions no one in the real world would ever made! I am more than disappointed! Why is everyone in this show so selfish? What I loved about the original SATC is the real friendship and support! Remember when Miranda was taking care of Steve's mother? That is commitment, that is love. This, this is just ridicules!

Horrible and ridiculous

Warning: Spoilers
God, where do I even start? This was, by far, the worst episode of this season (and that's saying a lot). The writing is terrible: everything about it is utterly cringe and nonsensical, while simultaneously full of cliches. That dinner was so boring that I found myself doing a million other things as I was watching. Most characters looked absolutely pathetic, even Samantha came across as a deflated version of her former self that simply being older wouldn't justify. So disappointing... If it weren't for the cute cat and Carrie's wonderful checked dress, this episode wouldn't be deserving of a single star. Stop boring us to death! If this is what you have to give us, just stop. PLEASE, STOOOOOOOP!!!

A depleted and shallow storyline
aleki-9244825 August 2023
In all, "And just like that", didn't quite get it for me. I was that audience part watching it for the old glory of SATS.

And for this last episode....ugh... just a pile of ,, glitter and picture perfect costumes and framings,, and nothing more.... The storyline felt so depleted and old. A total waste of time watching it. Only plus side would be, (SJPs)Carrie's magic on screen as a character and offcourse (Kim Catrall) Samantha. She looked and acted out great Spot on.

For season 3, please make a full reset.

The storyline doesn't need so much different characters, and short shallow plots.

Make it alive, dynamic, challenging, not barely living.

Good riddance

So, let me guess, this BBC producer is now going to be Miranda's new love interest? If so, Miranda certainly seems to be attracted to unattractive women. However, between the voice and the posture, I am not sure if this woman was born that way.

If nothing else, Miranda seems to have no money problems for someone who hasn't had a paying job in two years and was paying Columbia tuition for one of them at $75k per year.

Carrie should have dumped Aidan a couple of episodes ago. Aside from him being a bad boyfriend (and parent), it was also unbelievable that he would be comfortable with Carrie's newfound wealth. Aiden always had more money than Carrie and more than once used it to punish her. When Carrie broke up with him, sweet Aiden sued her to force her to leave her apartment that she lived in for years or buy the apartment from him when he knew she had no money. This was previously a dirt-cheap rent stabilized apartment but Aiden ended that by buying it out from under Carrie. Now she had to buy it for probably half a million dollars. Nice guy.

Aiden previously was constantly punishing Carrie for her relationship with Big and yet was suddenly okay with Carrie using Big's millions to buy him a two floor love-nest in Grammercy Park with a private, locked park for him and his kids.

I must be the only one who didn't like Samantha's cameo knowing how Katrall badmouthed the show and her co-stars and how difficult she made the cameo for the producers. The show made a has been actress famous at an advanced age. That's pretty rare for aging actresses. Even Joan Collins had a significant early career before being rediscovered in her 40s.

Despite all the 'girl-power' pretense, one thing about SATC is that while I could see Carrie being friends of varying degrees with Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha, there was no way that Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha would have been friends with each other.
