A Complete Traditional Telangana Film. Must Watch Film.

Positives: 1. Good Story Line. Great Idea to to pick this concept by the debutant director Venu.

2. Good Screen Play.

3. Good acting by each Cast. Even few Minute performances added important roles to the Play.

4. Songs are so connected to each frame. Very meaningful lyrics.

5. BGM and scoring is also good.

6. Comedy scenes are highlight for the movie. Especially the Dialogue " rendu nimishalu agarade " connected to each scene.

Negatives: (we can say these as suggessions) 1. Colour Grading can be added.

2. CG can be improved.

3. Not a spoiler but Finally the director hasn't said how the hero paid his debts. Ofcourse the Emotion in the Climax is too high and he ended there.

But, Ultimately a must watch film especially for kids to know the love of the elders towards their kids.

Can't control myself on climax

What a movie. Just watched without expectations and story. Movie was made with brilliance. First of thanks to Director Venu for such a emotional movie. Even I started the movie like just an old man rite why showing this much. Later he given justification of every character. Biggest asset to this movie is casting. We really thought yes it's a family, didn't get any doubt. Most of the characters we used to see daily in our routine life. In my point of view Venu also a star director. Other than Venu nobody tackle this movie with that intense. I know only Venu wonders from Jabardasth but this Venu is completely different. No flaws. Bheems music apt in all the scenes. Especially climax song and scenes OMG.😢😢

The best movie in this decade

One word: The best movie in this decade. I could not stop my tears rolling down. The Movie catches the soul of villages. Artists did not act in the movie. They lived in it and make us live in the story. Music is the best i have seen recently. Lyrics stir our souls. Movie is proper mix of laughs + tears. You feel like sitting in a village and watching what is going on in a village. The new generation must watch lo know their roots. Movie reminds our roots and our elders. Climax is so intense that my heart was throbbing and felt great reverence towards our parents. Movie shows what a parent feels while raising their kids and what he looks forward about his kids in his late years. Don't miss at all!!!!

10/10 :Balagam is one of the best Film in present days, Priyadarshi acting was awesome at last , All artists, actors acted very well in this movie, It's a small movie felt like there must be a series/ sequels for this movie.

Not every time people like love movies, same routine movies love love love

This movie gave value of a family, relatives, relationships each n every one.

1 word : Best and kiraaaaaaak movie.

An Original Village Family Relationships Movie

The movie portrays the message of " Be together to have a strength (balagam) " It is a story that completely shows family relationships. While going through the story we can have a glance at the village's Beauty, customs, and traditions.

The movie is near to reality, I felt it is more connected to our real lives.

The direction is very good, and some songs in the traditional way played a major role in describing the messages which the director wants to pass to the audience.

Everyone had given their best for their characters.

I felt it is a very good movie to watch with family or even with friends 😊

Venu Yeldandi proves that a good comedian can effectively handle the most emotional scenes as well, as he dons the hat of director for Balagam. The film's strength lies in it's emotions and the humor too stems from it. The tradition of crows eating the food offered on the third day after the death of a loved on, is used well as a plot point here as the family members continue to display their disputes while the crows refuse to take a bite. This leads to the village thinking the departed soul is dissatisfied, further putting the family members under crude judgement.

First it was Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi and then Big B's GoodBye, that focused on the customs post ones death and shedding light on the broken family. Balagam too focuses on it, with a village setting where the treatment is much raw. Priyadarshi playing the lead brings in enough humor as he tries to use the scenario for his selfish needs. But the masterful scene comes in the final act where Priyadarshi and everyone start realizing their mistakes, forcing their guilt to truly miss the person they lost. In that very scene, one could feel the true meaning of the relationship - be it grandfather - grandson or father - children.

It is indeed the emotional final minutes that truly end the film on a high note. With a short runtime, fewer songs even, director and writer needs to be credited for even handling the scenes where Priyadarshi trying to woo another girl at such times, not come out as crude. To put it bluntly, it doesn't cross the line. The supporting cast too are good in bringing out the humor while grieving for the loss. Those scenes make the first half work well while the emotional drama takes over the second half.

A very good movie about human egos and relationships

This movies portrays the rural life in Telangana very accurately. The casting of actors is top notch and they performed very well.

Movie brought back memories of my grandfather funeral.

It showcased most of the ceremonies accurately like waiting for the crow to eat food offered, the processions towards the burial ground, etc.

It subtly showcased how the egos and small rifts breaks the family relationships. It showcased how the financial greed is affecting the families and creating rifts between people.

The music is very nice with songs having meaningful lyrics. The folk songs are so apt to the script.

The climax is the highlight of the movie. It reminds you that family should stay together no matter what.

The main plot of the movie is about a funeral of a family head.

The cinematography is nice and captured the emotions pretty well. Editing is crisp and there is no unnecessary scenes/fillers which makes the viewing enjoyable and narration gripping.

The director did a pretty good job handling the script with a very engaging screenplay.

I highly recommend watching this movie.

A feel good Emotional comedy drama with soulful music which entertains as well as educates you.

Whole point is conveyed to the characters and audience within a single song and heart touching lyrics Vocals , music , performances , traditions & their slang everything is so natural Didn't expect this from Venu Yeladandi anna , He is a Ruby in soil from writing comedy scripts to writing and directing a movie based on village nativity is not that easy and he did it & Bheems Ceciroleo did magic by bringing the cultural songs onscreen with the heart touching lyrics The 10 stars for the perfect debut of Venu Yeldandi.

Emotional rollercoaster, gem of a movie!

The screenplay and direction of the movie was simply awesome. Felt connected with the characters and the village setting. I'm not sure how other state people would connect to the storyline, but it would be interesting to see how other audience perceived it. Reminded me of the simple times how families in villages stay together and happy. It felt as if every role depicted of someone in my own family. It was so engaging, tears were rolling through many scenes. Simple movie with a right message to the current generation to not forget our roots. Strength of an individual comes from strong bonding with family.

Beautiful movie with a rural backdrop, powered with lots of emotions, war of egos and family bonding. A must watch for anyone who loves family and values it's existence. Superb direction, beautiful lyrics and cast. Each character did great justice to the role and built an amazing story. Priyadarshi is an excellent actor, his acting so natural and he lives that character in the movie. Well done whole crew who has worked behind the scenes to create this beautiful movie and gave it to us. A MUST watch to all movie fans who loves watching drama and simple village life. I recently had the pleasure of watching a this movie that focused on family emotional and unity relationships, and I must say, it was an exceptional cinematic experience. The film truly captured the essence of traditional village life and portrayed the significance of familial bonds and support.

Must watch film, this is the best telugu film watched in last couple of years.

Casting is excellent, most of actors are not main stream, though everyone performed top notch.

Drishyam is one of the best writing in recent years, this movie writing standard easily can matcehs with drishyam writing.

Coming to screen play and direction, no one is going to believe this is directors first movie. Every scenes has thoughtful moments and has meaningful role in the movie.

I am sure everyone connect the movie as this movie shows stick to nativity 100%.

Coming to director, everyone knows him as comedian but he has great passion towards writer.

Hope you are going to make such wonderful movies in the future and all the best.

Balagam is blood relationship our family is everything

There is no doubt everyone who watched the film will think about their family grand parents ...parents and siblings.. death that is inevitable we all are running to our grave.. the generation gap is only difference... our grandparents are very lucky ... they have very good children and grand children ..our parents are lucky they at least got good children who know something about family values ...but we should be ready we will not get the kind of farewell..harsh truth but let's brace ourselves..venu thank you boss for getting Telangana Culture exposure to the world ..hats off.. but your movie proved that there are no barriers when it comes to families !! Thank you Venu ..!! Anyone who gives less than 10 rating are people who go and give 10 rating for Avengers end game ...! Even when foreigners watch this movie they will cry and understand the Depth of movie .!! I wish such great gems come out of Indian cinema which portray human emotions. Once rakshit shetty said in his interview..we are ready to buy remake rights for millions ..but not ready to pay few lakhs for writers...if we encourage writers like this we will get fantastic movies ..we don't need commercial masala movies all we need is real stories ..real emotions. This movie proves no cast no big budget is needed to make great movie ..big directors will go and sit in bathroom and cry for their inability to make such movies. I thank the entire unit especially the director..music director...the cast and finally the Folk singers who ended the movie on such a high note.

Brilliant Movie!

Greatly captured the innocent village, relationships, great humor, amazing depiction of Telangana culture.

Simple, heartfelt & pure as characters shed their egos to embrace one another, I cried during climax song. Toduga Ma Thodundi is the highlight of this movie. Without that the movie would not have been successful. The voice of Komuramma & Mogulaiah is so amazing that it shakes you soul. I bow to them After watch movie I am grounded, reminded what's permeant and what's not.

What a wonderful movie, this generation wanted this type of movies to know the values of Joint family's Do not miss the movie period!

It's an excellent movie, which portrayed the reality of village life (took back to the past). Must watch for new generations. Reminds of the importance of the relationships. I think it's a small movie with big values. Songs are very good and they show the old culture, which is almost extinct. I think we need these kind of movies once in a while to remind us of the roots of the culture. Well done director Venu and the entire team of Balagam. The selection of the cast is perfect and each and everybody has done excellent job. Overall, it shows the actual village life with lot of emotion and values.

Balagam is by far one of the best movies I have seen in recent times. The raw emotions, the earthy characters, and the honest portrayal of village life without falling into the trap of typical Telugu film masala. The director will slowly and eventually drag you completely into his world, set you up for the climax, and then hit you really hard! Mostly unknown (except Darshi) and capable actors worked out great for the movie and the story, this is a big plus. There are no item songs, gravity defying fights or out of place song and dances sequences in Europe. Venu is known for his comedic roles and TV skits, but he surprised everyone and how! Don't miss this one, it will get awards, critical acclaim, and also a commercial success.

Best writing and direction in recent times. Last song was so meaningful and emotional. Performances are top notch. Dialogues were written very well and meaningful. Screenplay and flow of scenes handled very well.

All the songs are good.

It's not a simple story, it needs lot of experience and understanding of human relations to come up with such a story and convert it into an emotional and eye opening movie.

Definitely one of the top movies of all time.

Everyone gave top of the class performance and I am sure they might have been emotional during filming of the movie.

Hats off to Venu Yeldandi.

A beautiful movie that will make you laugh and cry. The last scene is extremely emotional that will make you teary. This movie also teaches us good human values. Everyone including supporting actors and villages acted well. This movie is Priyadarshi's best movie. It beautifully depicts the culture of Telangana. Stellar performance by Priyadarshi's and everyone in the movie. Venu Yeldandi gave a great gift to the people of Telangana in the form of this movie. This movie will make you laugh in the first half and slowly it starts becoming emotional. It makes you realize great human values. Songs are the best part of this movie. Every word in almost every song has a great meaning.

Absolutely loved the movie. Watched it last night over subtitles. Loved every bit of it. This movie has a very beautiful message to reflect the important of family relationships over anything else in the world. Filled with lots of emotions and comedy at the same time, the simplicity of village life and the strength of elderly character in the upbringing of family values is very well reflected. Recommended it to my family as must watch in these new times when people are all about themselves. Characters were beautifully depicted and every one did justice to their being in the movie. Thank you for making such a grand one.

Simple family movie with egos, relationships

It is a simple family movies, which will take us through the backdrop of a village with egos, relationships, rituals.

Emotions will come one way or other in every family and well done.

Venu, as comedian we know all these days. Here we see his directorial debut and did good job. Venu did a good choice by having another person as hero. It worked out well. He can do part 2 similarly with a core rural village backdrop and different story.

Rituals are created for a purpose. Those who thrash this statement will realize the hidden agenda of family relations and bonding after seeing the movie on my view.

You will not be disappointed for watching this movie, if u r from village background.

Great family valuable emotionals exposed on screen. One of odion it's really hurts me some times. The character of Komarayya he change everything his family. We need this kind of movies, i would thankyou for making this movie. Director, artists, cemara department, makup, assistant directors, fight masters, dance master, expecially singers, sound engineers, music department, art department, lighting department, editors, production, driving department, manager, mainly Producer supporting confident about making this movie.
