About that kiss...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this show, but Lucy and Maximus have about as much chemistry as oil and water.

I don't know yet if this is intended or not. Because this could also be exactly the purpose since Lucy said herself that Maximus is just the first stranger she's encountered that's not just trying to kill or harm her, and actually did help her some. So it would fit her naivete and the way she was brought up that she somehow feels like that's an indicator she should be with him. But it could also be just an actual love story they're trying to write, which really doesn't work. Let's see how all of this is gonna wrap up.

Hello?

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was full of movement and puzzle pieces coming together. Lucy and Maximus escape Vault 4 and dive right back into the surface, which oddly enough is the safer place to be at this point. We see Thaddeus struggling with the head and his injury, opting to leave Dr. Wilson's dog behind. As he journeys to find a place where he can access his coms and radio into base, he stumbles upon a character we've previously been introduced to who becomes an unlikely ally and helps him in his quest. When he's directed to head to a nearby town with a tower he runs into Lucy and Maximus who realize there is something incredibly different about Thaddeus. They bargain to return the head for him to the Brotherhood to give him a way out. As he's no longer the same.

We see a growth moment with Lucy and Maximus here. He gives Lucy a bit of leverage to find her father and promises to unite with her in Vault 33 when this is "all over".

The flashbacks continue with The Ghoul/Coop and they are more revealing than before. Showing his growing displeasure of Vaultech, he opts to attend a meeting with a very powerful figure and is asked to spy on the company. It is the beginning of what appears to be a tumultuous relationship.

Back at Vault 33, dwellers are assigned and reassigned between Vault 32 and 33 and we see the rift between Norm and Chet with Chet leaning into the changes and Norm doing the opposite.

At the end we see him opting to leave 33 and pursue his idea on a whim. Will it be fruitful? Is it a trap? This episode is a great lead in to the season finale! What a time to be alive --- literally.

Decent but a Bit Scattered

This one is probably one of my least favorite of the series, but it was still pretty good. I just felt like all the characters represented were in the middle of great stories and they kind of went in different directions. I assume they wrote like this to get to that season finale and make it work, but I felt like this episode could have been a bit tighter and more concise. A lot of times the scene played out in a very different way compared to the consistency of how the characters have been acting this entire series. I'm excited for the finale and payoff but this one just didn't have the moments I was looking for like the other episodes in the series provided. 3.5/5 stars.

A flop episode.
omerblumenfeld28 April 2024
This episode of the show was such a jarring downgrade in writing and direction.

The characters are acting nonsensically, conflicts don't work, plot points are being brought up just to be completely forgotten. Important information about the Fallout world and some very anticipated story developments are delivered in this episode in a mediocre fashion more befitting a mid Netflix series. It is so disappointing because the show had a great buildup so far.

Though all plot lines in this episode are not as good as the rest of the show, the 2 main characters' plot is especially disappointing as it had so much potential.
