Royal Rumble go home show.
clayface917 December 2019
The show opens with the Heavenly Bodies facing the 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly. Bret Hart and William Shatner are interviewed about Bret's match with Jeff Jarrett. Mantaur bulldozes over Jason Ahradt (the future Joey Abs). Todd Pettengill gives the Royal Rumble Report. Bret Hart faces Jeff Jarrett in a good match. Jerry Lawler's guests on the King's Court are the Million Dollar Corporation. Mabel squashes Lee Tobin. Mabel is interviewed about the upcoming Royal Rumble match. The show ends with a video package about Diesel. Well, at least there were two competitive matches on the show.

Shatner beats up The Roadie!

Warning: Spoilers
(01.16.95)

Live from Houston, TX

Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Shawn Michaels

The Heavenly Bodies (W/Jim Cornette) Vs The 1-2-3 Kid & Bob Holly

Kid & Holly win after The Kid pins one of the Bodies with a Northern Lights suplex. They did pretty well with the amount of time they were given. It moved at a fast pace and I enjoyed it while it lasted.

*3/4

Bret Hart is with William Shatner backstage. Bret says he has no ring rust after the layoff. Shatner says he's gonna watch Bret Hart's back. Shawn Michaels asks who is gonna watch Shatner's back. Shatner says he doesn't need anybody to watch his back, he can hold his own. He says if The Roadie interferes, Roadie's gonna become roadkill.

Jason Arhndt Vs Mantaur (W/Jim Cornette)

Arhndt is Joey Abs of The Mean Street Posse. Mantaur wins with a splash. Trust me when I say, Mantaur is one of the worst gimmicks in WWF history. If you're that curious, just look up a picture of him on google! That should say it all. Unless you're a masochist, don't bother watching a match of his.

DUD

We get a Royal Rumble report with Todd Pettengill. The Undertaker comments on his match against I.R.S.

Jeff Jarrett is offended that Todd Pettengill is picking Bret to beat him later tonight.

Jeff Jarrett (W/The Roadie) Vs Bret Hart (W/William Shatner)

Bret Hart wins with a reverse roll-up. Shatner beats up The Roadie by embarrassing him after the match. This one actually got a decent chunk of time. It wasn't anything outstanding, but it featured some solid wrestling. Jarrett has always been an enigma to me. He's a great wrestler, but he's always lacked the personality to really resonate with me. Shatner's antics were kinda fun as well.

**3/4

The Million Dollar Corporation (Ted Dibiase, I.R.S, Bam Bam Bigelow, Tatanka, King Kong Bundy, I.R.S, and two druids) are guests on The King's Court. Ted predicts that the corporation is gonna dominate The Royal Rumble. His biggest success will be King Kong Bundy winning the Royal Rumble with Pamela Anderson escorting Bundy down the aisle at Wrestlemania 11.

Thoughts: Basic promo from Dibiase, but the thought of Pamela Anderson escorting Bundy down the aisle amused me. Ted Dibiase has always been a fantastic talent, but the Million Dollar Corporation was a mediocre heel stable.

Mabel Vs Lee Toblin

Mabel wins with a legdrop. You don't really expect much involving a squash match from Mabel, do you? Actually, you shouldn't expect much from a Mabel match, period. Toblin got more offense in than I expected.

½*

King Kong Bundy and King Mabel get into a verbal argument over who is going to win the Royal Rumble.

Most Raw's from 95 are almost unbearable to watch, but this one was tolerable, thanks to some decent wrestling. WWE was in for a rough ride with Diesel at the helm.
