To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music, a new film The Trapp Family - A Life in Music is in production in Salzburg. The film, which tells the story behind the legend, is based on the autobiography of Agathe von Trapp, the eldest daughter.
23 year old British actress Eliza Bennett leads the cast as Agathe, starring with Matthew Macfadyen as her father Georg von Trapp alongside an international cast, whilst Vanessa Redgrave plays the older Agathe.
Eliza (represented by Independent Talent) starred in Nanny McPhee and Inkheart as a child, and more recently in thrillers F and Confine, she also appeared in the second series of Broadchurch.

Cross-media project market and conference unfolds June 19-20.
Actress, writer and producer Emily Corcoran [pictured] and director Annette K Olesen’s will be among the film professionals crossing over to the web to present transmedia projects at the upcoming edition of Cross Video Days (Cvd) in Paris later this month.
The cross-media market and conference event, unfolding June 19-20 in a former warehouse on the outskirts of Paris, marks its fifth edition this year.
Founder Bruno Smajda is expecting it to be the biggest edition to date.
“It’s taken off in terms of the quality of the projects and the attendance of commissioners, one feeds into another,” he says.
“Today producers and broadcasters have to conceive projects in a transmedia way, taking into account convergence and what’s happening digitally — not least due to the realities of the market and the way in which people consume content,” says Smadja.
“The wave of change is so great everyone...

★★☆☆☆ A great way to keep costs low, the single location setup has long been a keen ally of the no-budget filmmaker. The key, however, is to find a credible reason for people not to leave. It's a theatrical device safe in the hands of Tobias Tobell, as at home directing for the stage as for the screen, and his aptly-titled thriller Confine (2013). With a protagonist suffering from acute agoraphobia, there's almost no compunction to venture outside the walls of her swanky London apartment, but ultimately a bit of fresh air might have done the plot a little good. We follow reclusive Pippa (model Daisy Lowe), who hasn't left her home in years.
A socialite with a modelling career she suffered serious injuries in a car crash which brought on debilitating psychological trauma that prevents her from stepping outside her front door. Her familial relationships are strained and she finds solace in friends found online.

The Act Of Killing (15)
(Joshua Oppenheimer, 2012, Den/Nor/UK/Swe/Fin) 122 mins
This astounding documentary is so packed with surreal scenarios, casual corruption and inhumanity, it's difficult to believe it's actually true. It tracks down perpetrators of Indonesia's 60s anti-communist massacres, finding them openly unrepentant about their past atrocities; so much so, they're happy to re-enact them as cinematic scenarios. As well as illuminating modern Indonesia, the process says much about history, its representation and its victors.
This Is The End (15)
(Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, 2013, Us) Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill. 107 mins

Starring: Daisy Lowe, Alfie Allen, Eliza Bennett | Written and Directed by Tobias Tobbell
Okay, let’s start at the beginning for once: Confine is just an awful name for about anything that’s designed to entertain. Is it about confinement, or being confined? Or maybe it’s an order to confine someone? Whatever way you look at it, that verb gave me problems going in that I really didn’t need.
Not that I would have been so pedantic had the movie been any good, mind. The plot’s essentially a mash-up of Panic Room and your bog-standard home invasion thrillers, with Daisy Lowe playing the disfigured, agoraphobic ex-model hostage and Eliza Bennett the psychotic villain.
That description sounds a lot more interesting than the film I saw, as the film relies on bursts of violence and kidnapping tropes rather than delving into its lead’s psychological problems. This is...

I attended a round-table interview with some of the cast and producers of HBO’s award winning new series Game of Thrones. They were in town for the press launch of the Season 1 DVD/Blu-ray, which is available now. We reviewed it Here.
In the lead up to the Season 2 Premier on April 1st, we will be posting the series of interviews to whet your appetites for what will surely be another monumental season.
Two weeks ago it was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister. Last week was Michelle Fairley, who plays Catelyn Stark. Next up is young British actor, Alfie Allen.
Alfie is the son of film producer Alison Owen and actor Keith Allen, but most of you will probably recognise his sister, pop singer Lily Allen. He has appeared in small roles in films such as Elizabeth and Atonement and in 2008 took over from Daniel Radcliffe as the lead in Equus.

Even if it wasn't one of the best new TV series of 2011 (perhaps beat only by "Homeland"), "Game of Thrones" would have been manna from heaven for casting directors: a cast of attractive young stars, who get to show their action and acting chops, pre-picked by one of the best in the business Nina Gold, who have half the year free, and given the show's body count, will likely be free in a year or two anyway. Since the first season debuted on HBO last year, its stars have cropped up consistently in casting announcements, from Kit Harington landing the lead in the since-canceled "Arthur and Lancelot" (ahead of co-star Richard Madden), Emilia Clarke in "Spike Island" and "Overdrive" and Alfie Allen in "Confine" to Lena Headey in "Dredd" and Sean Bean in "Pan." And now one more of the show's leads has landed another gig, arguably the biggest yet for any of his co-stars.
