Rather playing catch-up on itself having been delayed due to the events of HM Queen Elizabeth's funeral, Week One of the 20th series of 'Strictly' ended up airing the night after the always slightly forced/pointless pair-up episode instead.
This I think hindered it slightly. 'Strictly' is best in small savoured doses, and the way it ended up airing felt a bit like overkill and jarring.
It got off to a good start though, with some nice performances along the way.
I know the programme moves on, as so it should, but I did think after his involvement for all those years a passing reference to Bruno's departure might have been nice.
On the whole though, good fun.
