Credit where credit is due

Lee, a senior comic who has honed his craft over decades, deserves props. His style is one-of-a-kind, without equal, and audiences love it. Carlin did observational humor, Rickles attacked his audiences "ad hominem," Williams/Winters attacked their topics in a mad frenzy, Catskills comics told long stories with short punchlines, Cosby turned "remembering" into an artform, and Youngman perfected the "one-liners," the shortest jokes on record. Lee is often referred to as a "repetitive" comic, but that label is unfair. He deconstructs his own material and, astonishingly, fully engages his audience while so doing. This unique form of comedy -- which takes perfect timing and massive cohones -- is showcased here, and it works a treat. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." Stewart Lee says the unsayable

Stewart Lee is a horrible 'comedian'. He can't tell jokes or anecdotes. Didn't make me laugh once. All over my head too high brow. Didn't understand half of the people mentioned and he doesn't know how to use a punchline. The Ricky Gervais bit wasn't too bad and the part where he tells about the horrible reviews he usually gets really starts to make more and more sense when I think about it. Maybe I'll give him another chance with a new show but all considering it'll probably take him a few years to gather material.

There is one upside though: he gives it to you straight like a pear cider that's made of a 100% pear.

Completely dire and lame.

I have no idea why he has such a good reputation as this clearly shows he hasn't got a single funny bone. His comedic ability is nonexistent, taking cheap shots at other comedians (some of which I don't particularly like) is just desperate. I didn't laugh once, not even slightly.

He is at best he is smug and self centred, the hallmark of desperate man. I have no idea what the audience found funny in this awful attempt at humour, the bar must have opened early.

Using the same lame jokes repeatedly for five to ten minutes at a time was nothing but a cringeworthy attempt to fill the time as he couldn't write a decent joke.

Miss this at all costs.
