Not up to the quality of the previous episode despite being much shorter in length. Rather than much of the story being on one character as the last story was, this one is predominantly based in one building.

There are funny parts here and also endearing to see them dance again after all this time but much of it is forced.

Gerald has hardly been seen beyond the cafe in this series and it is widely known why Guy has gone awol in reality (but a good made up story about his stag do was funny even if the dance routine didn't quite hit the mark).

Yvonne seems to be needlessly included here but was probably a pay off for actress Emily Bevan because without Guy then there is no need for her character either. Such a shame she had to put on a Northern accent as the Shropshire accent is too infrequently heard in the media An above average episode which gets an extra mark for being brave enough to keep the story short rather than trying to pan things our unnecessarily.

By this time the tv series was doing furious rewrites. Hugo Speer had to be written out. Tom Wilkinson's participation is limited due to his ill health.

It starts out with another condemnation of the social security system as Horse's benefits have been stopped. He has not eaten for days and now his benefits would cease for 8 weeks as hs got sacked from his last job now he has been found to be not disabled.

Horse makes a stand at the dole office. Only for a loudmouth called Miller hijacking it all by robbing the staff. The police surround the dole office and Gaz goes in to save the day.

This is the only episode that somewhat catches the spirit of the movie. Even the strip/dance scene from the movie is recreated.

The politics is blunt here. I am not convinced that Horse is of working age so him looking for work just does not fly.
