Plot issues but good conclusion
jackpri18 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Plot issues:

No one in the history of the human race would voluntarily go blind. Ok, maybe a few troubled people, but no one sane.

They stacked hundreds of bombs on top of each other and Haniwa had a bow and sight. Was there no other option here?

The sighted all converge in New York. That would be a death trap. Check out your neighborhood library!

The villagers are in the tunnel for several minutes. They'd be half a mile away from the city when the bombs hit.

After they leave the tunnel, the villagers know the bombs are coming. Why loiter about the yard?

If two guys can kill 60 people why not take out the ones at the gate and escape? Or better yet, circle around and ambush the enemy.

Outside of that: good show!

Positives: Great premise. There were many times an actor appeared to see where they were going, but the main 3 blind characters were outstanding. The fact that I hated Silba so much means that the acting and the character were great.

Negatives: see plot holes above. There were several in every episode. But, how many shows are perfect? If you can have fewer than Lost I guess you are good.

Sad to see this show go, but I'm satisfied.
thunderkatsmusic15 October 2022
From start to finish this show has kept me k on the edge of my seat. I started watching it solely because of Jason but learned to love all the other actors who did fantastic jobs. From the crazy queen/sister to Paris...etc. The premise and production was amazing. Everyone who ever leaves bad reviews is just foolish.

Sad to see this show come to an end. But the director, writers, producers did Jason Momoa justice. They have always listened to the fans and know what those fans want to see. The Final charge of Boba Voss, oh man that was beautiful. I'm fully satisfied. I will greatly miss this journey.

Jason Momoa is a treasure!
btrfly649928 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Jason Momoa is just a frickin treasure! He plays Baba to perfection. Now, I do not cry much in my real day to day life, it really takes a lot of make me cry. But, I do cry when I watch series/movies, when I'm connected to the characters. And man did I just cry my eyes out for Baba! Someone else said that it felt a bit forced, and I know what they mean...that, it felt like something Baba would 100% do, but getting to the moment was maybe a bigger dramatic buildup that was required. But, damn....daaaaaaaamn! He IS Baba Voss!

People are saying that Kofun's decision at the end made no sense and it was stupid. TBH, I was only surprised he'd not done that sooner, or gone around with a blindfold on. Kofun has always been very uncomfortable with his sight. You see him closing his eye much more than Haniwa, trying to use his other senses, and he is told by Baba and Toad that his sight is a hindrance. I think it would make sense for him to wear a blindfold for a while to make sure he can really commit to it, but we don't know what they did, or how they went about it, as the show concluded. I can't imagine Mahgra being like, "ok, get the hot poker!" But, who knows.

Haniwa's end also make sense. She is the exact opposite of her brother. To her, her sight is absolutely everything. While she loves her family, her need to see and be seen trumps that. I think them finding everyone at the NYC Public library is interesting. Other reviewers say they think it was weird they could just walk in and that there were no defenses...well, maybe there were! Maybe the sighted can move around them with ease as they WANT more sighted to join them. We just didn't see it all. If we did, it would have taken away from the impact of seeing all those sighted individuals.

I think Sylvia Hoeks is a goddess! Lol. She played Sibeth to perfection, just as Momoa played Baba. Truly a gifted actress and I hope to see more of her in the future!

Madekwe and Cooper...hmmm....well, I haven't seen him in anything else so I can't judge him. Cooper was in a great netflix show called Travelers, and played her role very well there. I think here they were just terribly miscast. I think there are currently so many wonderful young actors/actresses out there that forcing mid-late 20yr olds into a 17yr old role just isn't necessary. Honestly, the age stuff is what bother me the most out of anything in the show and I haven't seen anyone else mention it. How old is Bow Lion supposed to be!?!? When the series began, the actress was 24. We see her in that first episode fighting next to Baba before the twins are born. And then fast forward 17yrs and she still seems like shes in her early-mid 20s. I mean, lets say she was 17 when she was fighting...that puts her at 34? Same with Belu ("Lu)...she is fighting in that initial episode and then she pops up again in season 3. Dunno...all the ages were weird to me. The only one we see aging in anyway is Paris with her greying hair.

Ok. SOOOOO many people have said that the show forces you to suspend belief because there is no way the blind could make all that stuff and do all that stuff. And to that, I say, you are vastly underestimating the abilities of those without sight. And that is terribly sad. Those without sight are able to do way more than you can imagine. And, remember, this is 600 years after that initial virus. SIX HUNDRED YEARS!!!! You think that they haven't evolved at all? You think they haven't learned how to do even more than they could at first? That is a LONG time. Think about how much has changed in the world since the 1400s! Yes, it still looks ragged, but you also have to remember that they aren't just starting from scratch...they are having to build upon an old and ruined world. It feels insulting to say they couldn't make swords of that caliber or build that catapult. And, I do believe that woman could have heard all she did, though, I grant you, it's weird she could hear the specifics of Baba whilst all the fighting and other noise was going on. But, don't underestimate our other senses. I know that when I need to hear something or listen closely, I always close my eyes so I can focus on that sound. And, again, over 600 years, I'd imagine sense are even more honed and, like much of survival of the fittest, I'd bet those with stronger senses have passed those skills onward and so forth. I personally have hyperosmia, which is a heightened sense of smell. And, I can smells things from very far away that it surprises people...I always smell things first before others are able. So, I 100% know that other sense CAN be stronger. I think it's funny that people comment on not believe they could build that stuff, but have no issue with the presages, hahahaha. Though, I guess we do call that a "sixth sense," right? I don't have an issue with it....this is a show for goodness sake! Also, regarding the catapult...remember that they had Oloman and crew helping them build all these things....he could have explained what to do or assisted in the process. If they had a blueprint they could follow (elevated to feel and/or with knots to explain), they absolutely could have built it. I DO wonder how they know who to kill when they are fighting in large groups, but I'm going to guess that it might have to do with smell and feel of what they are wearing? Hmmm.... I'll have to look into that! Though, tbh, I kinda wonder how anyone managed that in old battles too, lol.

Don't close your mind the possibilities and abilities of others. You do yourself, and them, a disservice.

Ok, rant over. Bravo Mr. Momoa. Bra-VO! I'm sad to see this show has ended but enjoyed the journey. :)

Stupid Fun
harks221814 October 2022
See ends how it was, stupid fun.

It is at its heart a stupid show, and yet, there is something about it that keeps us watching. For every stupid plot moment, there is a good character moment. For every bad actor, there is an incredible performance. Such dynamics kept us watching until the end. Yes there are bad performances/actors such as Haniwa, Kofun, but for each bad performance, you get Baba Voss, Marghra, Tamacti Jun, Sibeth (she added so much to it), Paris, Jerlamarel, No the dog, the one background cow that you see in every scene in Pennsa, these are the characters that you keep coming back for. This is a 6/7 star show elevated to a 8 because of these characters. It has its moments and those moments are incredibly high.

Now, the ending. There is, for sure, nothing incredibly surprising, but I think it is a good send off for all the characters. Plot holes by the dozen but they are mended and repaired by great characters and some good action which has a bit of humor. This is what I have to say about See.

PS...Kofun's choices definitely did not help the show break its "stupid" stigma.

Perfect Ending!
shpresim_kuqi14 October 2022
I loved the ending of this series. It is just perfect and it doesn't feel rushed. There are no plot holes left and every character has a good conclusion. Part of me wishes that we will get another season but this would just be overextended. Maybe we can have different spin offs with other stories since there is so much to tell about this world. Jason Momoa as Baba Voss was a perfect casting and he really nalied this role. This series overall is so underrated and in my opinion it is at the level of House of the Dragon. I will recommend this series to all of my friends since it is so good. Ending Perfect!

What an incredible finale
Skatrdude1915 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best season finales I have ever seen and truly makes me enjoy the show overall more than Game of Thrones. An absolutely perfect end. The unending depth of acting class and world-building displayed in this show never stops to bring me to absolute awe. The scene between Maghra and Sibeth brought me to tears, as well as Baba's climactic scene. I am appalled at the ratings of this show, despite the fact that they are fairly decent they should be much much higher. The writing, cinematography, and acting are second to none.

Do yourself a favor and engross yourself into this world, you will never forget it.

Amazing show. Will be missed.
hugor16 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've liked "See" from the very start, with the first battle on the cliff making me feel i was about to watch something special, and it sure delivered.

The show has some glaring issues, many plot holes and horrible casting choices (Haniwa and Kofun mainly)...

... but it also has amazing characters, very well portrayed by their actors (Tamacti Jun, Magrah, Sibeth, Harlan, Wren and especially Jason Momoa's "Baba Voss", being the highlight of the show, alternating seamlessly between a vicious warrior and a heart warming father), some sensational action scenes (again, any of the Baba Voss fight scenes is extraordinary, from saving Kofun from the slavers in season 1, to his fight with Edo in season 2, to his final charge in season 3, with everything in between. Absolutely captivating, and i will sure miss them. Whoever choreographed them did an amazing job).

As for the ending itself, it was adequate enough, with some bits better than others, but a well enough send off to the characters.

So, despite all its flaws, i will surely miss the show, and will remember it fondly, for it was one of the most original and entertaining in the most recent years.

A Glorious End In Sight - S03 Review
JoshuaMercott9 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is the last season of "See", and I must admit I feel bad to see it end; pun unintended. But all good things must come to a close. This season was all about vengeance, family, and the need to decisively fight for one's freedom or lose it altogether.

Anders Engström did excellent work directing all eight episodes this season. Writers Jonathan Tropper, Jennifer Yale, Kate Erickson, Adam Stein, Dagny Looper, Nelson Greaves, Adam Benic, and Karl Taro Greenfeld wrote a killer script and gave every character a stunning and deserving send-off.

Bear McCreary's musical scoring was wonderful in every way. He captured the essence of this world and the soul of its people. Exquisite cinematography by Michael Snyman. Great costume design by Natalie Bronfman. Admirable work all round by the editing, stunts, and hair-makeup teams. Art direction, set decoration, and VFX were on point.

Baba Voss, played by Jason Momoa, was brilliant. This was one of his best roles in a career filled with amazing performances. His portrayal of a father conflicted but unrelenting in his need to keep his children and clan safe was astounding. Baba Voss was, in my opinion, one of Momoa's under-rated characters.

Maghra, played by Hera Hilmar, was equal parts fire and ice. Her performance was the beating heart of this series in so many ways. Queen Sibeth Kane, played by Sylvia Hoeks, was flawless. Her nuanced acting is worthy of multiple awards and recognition.

Tamacti Jun, played by Christian Camargo, was captivating. Wren, played by Eden Epstein, was quite good. Kofun, played by Archie Madekwe, was notable. Haniwa, played by Nesta Cooper, was great. Lord Harlan, played by Tom Mison, was outstanding. Charlotte, played by Olivia Cheng, was great.

LCDR Tormada, played by David Hewlett, was superb. Ranger, played by Michael Raymond-James, was quite good. Lucien, played by Dean Jagger, was good. Ambassador Trovere, played by Trieste Kelly Dunn, was also good. Sheva, played by Damaris Lewis, was quite good.

Nevla, aka The Bank, played by Tamara Tunie, was notable. Shiloh, played by Murry Peeters, was great. Maddox, played by Matthew G. Taylor, was good. Guntar, played by Christopher Tai, was memorable.

Everyone else did great work in "See" season 3, now streaming on Apple TV+.

It was a while since the gift of sight returned to the dystopian society featured in "See". But its verified existence among some people portended great change and sparked a greed for control. "See" season 3 thus became a power-packed finale in a show known for containing powerful messages.

The birth of a baby, holding those who were in power accountable, fulfilling key diplomatic goals, and waging a war for one's family and dignity were essential themes that served as pillars to hold up "See" season 3. The battle between Baba Voss' forces and the Trivantians continued this season and brought with it fresh tensions, game-changing tactics, and dire losses.

Edo Voss, played by Dave Bautista, died last season. So did Paris, played by Alfre Woodard. Both their absence was genuinely felt in S03. One death that was long overdue was that of Sibeth Kane. Although, to be honest, her acting was so good that I felt sad to see her go.

Aside from high-octane action - whose blindness-based choreography itself deserved applause - this season packed plenty of emotional value. I loved the nuanced fight choreographies. They also kept the plot crisp and simple this season, which made me admire it all the more.

What I especially appreciated was the beautiful death they gave Baba Voss. That library scene (in a post-apocalyptic NYC) in the final few minutes of the show held great promise, but alas this is the last we'll see of this amazing series. Thank you for the journey, showrunners.

[8.4] I bow to Sylvia Hoeks
cjonesas13 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A semi-marvelous end to a great season. I was enthralled since the first episode of the season up to the last. Stellar acting by Queen Sibeth's character, the devilishly, charismatically and mischievously better out there (playing-wise) with best nuances that only underlines and highlights how great of an actress Sylvia Hoeks is. First "ex aequo" comes, Baba Voss's character played heroically and charismatically with depth by Jason Momoa who by now, almost everyone agrees that he cemented himself with personification of the character and that's arguably one of his best roles, if not the best.

Aside the above clapping, I take (some) time to agree with some reviewers that throughout the season and even the show, some abilities, capabilities, technology and craftsmanship / blacksmith prowess and tools-weapons were way above realm of imagination and one had to obligatory suspend disbelief in order not to go mad and crazy. One example in the last around two episodes (among many others), the catapults!, how on earth could they build a catapult with that level of complexity. How on earth would they even direct and aim them?! The answer to these questions and alike is there is NO credible answers and we reviewers were always swimming in the highly imaginative muddy waters inside the writers' brains! We had no control over that and as soon as we accepted to watch "See" there was no coming back, nor complaining... I respect every reviewer's opinion on "See", even if I might not agree with them.

Also, it is my opinion that the executives and producers went crazy on finishing "See", even after Baba's death; completed with the last crazy, sometimes illogical minutes out there, in their land and in a dystopian NYC that opened new horizons for more to come, more to really come, better be explored in at least a spin-off.

Executives, please have the smartness and decency to give us, reviewers that. We thank you for your production, but, please know, without permissions, greens, viewers and fans, you are next to nothing.

Any production, first and foremost builds up on its viewers who are the main pillars of your potential success or failure.

Thank you Apple (Original) TV for your great work.

Stupid decisions
duysens7 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Was there a chance to kill Tormada faster, yes, but no we waited until he's gone after he sends his soldiers.

Being in a tunnel for a long time and still under the part of the village thats hit.

The tunnel collaps after being hit, leaving the tunnel and then running around where the bombs drops.

Silently kill lots off soldiers in the camp, but why not the ones at gate to escape with villagers.

Hearing so good that she can hear the villages going true a tunnel, Baba's height, weight and footsteps.

But it ends where it starts, the ones who can see will be hunt down again and let Koffun decide to be blind, stupid decision.

Drunk writers
bkeenan-2679626 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I know they were trying to tie up the lose ends here and kill off some main characters, but am I the only one who thinks a random woman who can suddenly hear footsteps several meters underground is impossible? Am I the only one who thought of making some loud noise so the sighted ones could massacre the blind soldiers? Did it not occur to them that of the 10 tunnels leading them out of town, the one tunnel they shouldn't use is the one that goes directly under the invading army? I feel like I could go on and on with these massive plot holes, and the conclusion I have come to, is that either the writers were drunk, or they allowed an trained octopus to write the final episode by attaching a pointing device to one of its tentacles and asking it to pick from a series of random cards containing stupid things that no one would ever do in real life. When Kofun decides to gouge his eyes out so he can understand how his son experiences the world, I think it really summarises how stupid the writers think their audience is to believe this would be someone's choice. I mean, just the message it sends - it's better to blind yourself than to be different. It's better to throw away your gifts that to make a difference in the world, because making a difference might be hard. It's really setting a low bar for any of the kids watching this show.

I liked the show, the acting (I even tolerated the kids) and the storyline, right up until the last episode. Then it was like getting punched in the face by stupidity. Not sure why no one else has noticed this so I thought I should write a review in case anyone else was feeling the same and we can sit and stew about how the writers spat on a great show in the last episode. They really dragged it out too, a bit like the third lord of the rings movie - the first half of it was the conclusion, the second half is a tour of every single character we met in the show to make sure we know what every one of them were feeling about how it all went down. Bit like this review, it just needs to end.

Disappointing writing, adequate wrap up, amazing acting.
bandoh12 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As another reviewer said the final episode had some lazy plot items even as it felt like they did their best to wrap up the storylines as if they learned it was not being renewed. The actors did their jobs with what they were given.

Issues: The first "WTF?!?" was the woman who can somehow hear the citizens evacuating by walking quietly through underground tunnels.

The citizens deciding to leave the tunnels and then wander around the city again when the threat of bombs was still ongoing then the attack starts up again and they blown up.

Haniwa walking up with her bow but not taking out Tormada before he can order the soldiers to advance.

The unending stream of army reinforcements during the episode. Had these existed earlier there would've been plenty to take the city without bombing it.

Baba's sacrifice felt forced the way it was shot at least.

Kofun's choosing to give up his own sight feels just...shortsighted.

I enjoyed this inventive series and hope other unique ideas continue to be developed.

See no more.
hannes-gudjonsson14 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Already after a couple of episodes this season, I felt that it was good that this was the last season since it became so repetitive.

And now after the last episode I can just stare that I was right.

The back story is fantastic, so innovative and I really like dystopian stuff. The acting was mixed but mostly good with some truly great acting. The fighting scenes so well done and so realistic.

But the smart story and dialog was missing and the show became too repetitive and too unrealistic.

This episode had some peaks in the fighting scenes and the killing of the Queen but otherwise it was boring and the dragged out ending with Kofun choosing to pick out his eyes (which is absurd, he could easily had a blind fold for a year or five). The episode left a bad taste and after season 3 I'm down rating the series from 8 to 7 and will not be recommending anyone to see it without warning.

I was really entertained during season 1 and maybe half seasons 2, so thanks for that.

Why can't a great show end well?
JoeInBW16 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was fully engaged in this dystopian adventure marvelling at the characters' abilities to eke out an existence despite their blindness and some concepts stretching credibility. The last 20 minutes of the 24 hour epic series lost all credibility (other than Maghra's scenes which were well presented). First, how could a developing society that is based on some form of religious doctrine and it's definite need to survive through procreation accept a gay marriage; let alone a relationship (no offence to the gay community). Second, how does a society of seers just accept strangers in their midst? Do they not know that the blind are out to terminate everyone of the sighted? They should have had some defensive forces around the area against invaders. Perhaps another episode was needed to flesh that new community's existence or spend 5 minutes the ladies being stopped and questioned before letting them in. Too bad.
