Good penultimate episode bringing storylines together
foamythefearsome30 June 2022
This season has had a couple of oddballs, and while presenting a pleasing storyline overall, many episodes missed the spark that made The Blacklist what it was. A few episodes gave you that feel again (e.g. Andrew Kennison, The Chairman, The Conglomerate), but this one got us back to where it belongs, and gave us back The Blacklist we all know and love, with intriguing double agendas, smoke and mirrors, and a surprising twist at the end. I knew they could still do it!

Sweet Child In Time

An interesting overall plot, despite the ludicrous super-secure flying bank with all of its immediately apparent vulnerabilities.

We get the usual over earnest round-robin exposition dumps, expedient reintroduction of characters as serendipitous plot devices and one FBI character feeling needy and weak - this time it is Park.

Even considering all the above, this is a solid episode and Red goes all Reddingtony. Seeing him get his mojo back is a most welcome development.

Haven't We Been Here Before? But I still love it.

Warning: Spoilers
First off what I loved about this episode was a lot of good writing and acting. And I always enjoy the little twists. But while I enjoyed this episode a lot I can't but feel a tad disappointed. I was hoping for the big bad reveal to be something bigger than "betrayal by a close confident", that had been done before.

Death, betrayal, accusations, lies, deception, a classic episode in the best tradition of The Blacklist!!!! This season started off a little slow but has sped up to warp speed and I can't wait for the two part conclusion coming up over the next 2 weeks!!!

Best episode of the season
ewhite-2201716 May 2022
Now this is what I've come to expect from the Blacklist. Constant action that kept you glued to the TV. Lots Revealed this episode including who had Liz Keen killed. Love the Part where Red is talking to Dembe on the phone right before they T-Bone him and Ressler to Grab Heddie. That was Classic Blacklist and I couldn't stop Laughing. Also, I've always liked the Musical selections that they have picked for the Blacklist but when they started Playing Deep Purple, Child in time, it blew me away. Perfect song for the situation and I haven't heard that song in decades as they never play it on the radio anymore. Can't wait for the conclusion. You know there will be lots of action and Blood spilled.

Best episode in a while

Warning: Spoilers
The Blacklist had it's up and downs, but I started loving the later part of this season so far and the whole storyline and how everything got revealed. Reddington alone in focus makes the series a lot different and very enjoyable.

So far it missed an episode that blew me away, but this one had me from start to finish with a lot of plots, some expected, some less expected.

The episode got supported with outstanding acting from all character and left up a few clues within the scenes to guess what will happen and make you actively think if you chose to instead of just passively consuming the episode and that's what I think made it so great overall, supported by the great general story.

Now that all dots are connected, I am looking forward to the rest of the season and how this one ends.

THIS IS THE BLACKLIST

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was insane. Although the twist was foreshadowed and kind of obvious, it's delivery was stunning. Every second of this episode holds your attention as the story unfolds.

The scene where Reddington talks to Dembe to distract him was absolutely hilarious (I DID NOT SEE THAT COMMING). The moment of Red realization when Alina dropped the glass, you see him questioning everything in that one moment as he remembers that painful day. The reveal that was done perfect. Marvin didn't ask for Red's forgiveness, he owned up to his action even though he explained it. It seems he really did use Reds advices in best way he could. I can't even imagine how will this end, given that Red is going up against himself (sort of).

The beginning of the season was slow paced and poorly written in some moments, but last couple of episodes were amazing. The story, the twists, the acting of characters, unique blacklisters, it has it all. I really hope writers of the show keep this pace and quality.

Taut and Gripping

Warning: Spoilers
This episode finally gets us to the bottom of everything. Marvin has been Red's salvation on many occasions, including saving his life. But he is a brilliant attorney and an absorber of information. At some point he realized that he had the ability to look into things without being observed. He also spent so much time with Raymond that he know the ropes. Most importantly, Reddington trusted him implicitly. I enjoyed what ultimately was done with Heddy. For a moment I thought that another Mr. Kaplan thing had occurred where Red takes a few seconds and then kills someone. But there is a great twist here and it works really well. Of course, with two episodes to go, we are going to get down to final business.

We have the answers. I am so tired of the Liz's death arc. I liked all of that but Alina behaved quite irrationally and the story of the Caelum Bank heist was so similar to those happening in this same season...You can't only have a super safe bank. If you invented a new one every month, it makes no sense. Raymond was almost in bankrupcy a few years ago, but he had well provided accounts in several super secret banks and, apparently, he just forgot about them (or, as seen in a previous episode) about the villa he got for Liz, and his sweet caretaker. We have to believe Marvin has been paying to keep all those things, but it seems like a stretch of the imagination, even for this show. But I am happy to report the acting was very good in this one.

I used to like this Red guy...
jonasjensovsky15 May 2022
Reddington character continues his path to be bigger and bigger moron and idiot. Why? Because he does not listen to his closest advisors. And he does not pay attention to what he needs to hear instead of wants to hear. It started long ago when Mr. Kaplan protected Lizzy and he considered it a betrayal. At the start of this season Dembe told him that big part of why Lizzy dies comes from Red´s own actions, but he is unable to accept it.

Moreover with death of Lizzy he lost his counterpart. Lizzy was a person that he cannot kill or got rid of, but she was investigating his past. The show lost its primal ballance, now it is just "One Red Show" and I really hope the next season will be the last.
