As the previous episode ended we learnt that Lucas might not be the man he claims to be, whether he is really good or bad has yet to be revealed and I suspect that will be the main story for this series. Lucas isn't the only person with secrets, new girl Beth also has a past and it soon looks as if her membership of the team will be very short lived. Lucas and Beth are tasked with preventing an assassin getting to an oil magnate with interests in Nigeria. They know that one of the men going to a meeting with him is the assassin so Beth enters the lift with them to try to identify the killer; on the way up the power is cut, the doors open and everybody inside is sprayed with machine gun bullets. It looks as if Beth is dead but we soon learn that she and another person survived unhurt. It appears that the target turned the tables and killed his would be assassin. As he has contacts within the government it is hard for the team to get close to him but they manage to bug his house and learn that he is planning an atrocity in Nigeria to engineer a coup and remove the government that wants to shut his operations there. While this is going on it comes to light that Beth hasn't been open about her past and this may be compromising her position at MI5 to say the least.
This was another gripping episode where we are constantly unsure who is working for whom and even the good guys are not above suspicion. Sophia Myles makes a fine addition to the team as Beth and I'm intrigued as to how Lucas's story will play out. It was interesting how we were shown key events from two or three points of view; Lucas's, Beth's and the other survivor's. As well as an interesting mystery there was also plenty of action; it even looked as if Harry was in danger at one point!
