Very intriguing and interesting show so far

Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion the third episode does a good job further explaining the backstory of Candy's and Betty's friendship as well as explaining more about her affair with Allan. Some people have been saying the episodes are long and drags. It does, but it's not boring by any means, it's interesting and again gives more context to the events leading up to Betty's murder. Jessica Biel's performance has been really amazing so far and kind of chilling in a way, and Lynskey has really done a good job portraying Betty's awkwardness and uptightness. I'm excited for episodes 4 and 5.

More character development and backstory: a well acted, slow burning puzzle, that keeps the tension
Shadowboy_25cm29 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The drama around the triangle Candy-Allan-Betty continues: Candy and Allan start an affair and they enjoy the benefits from it, giving them both the energy in living their marriage.

Betty gets pregnant and Candy deepens her friendship with Betty to support her.

Betty and Allan attend Marriage Encounter to come closer. Candy fears that Allan told Betty about his affair with Candy.

Candy develops deeper feeelings for Allan, it's against the rules, and ends the affair. Allan is against it.

The newborn seems to deepen Bettys' and Allans' relationship.

This all looks like some usual drama between cheating couples. With Candy ending the affair and the newborn, but knowing about the murder of Betty, this episode is a well acted, slow burning puzzle, that keeps the tension by reminding the viewer about the murder and still guessing, what led to the murder?

Good show, with excellent actors, production values and set design.

Recommended.

Affair by numbers

This episode is superfluous and disrespectful to the audience. It could and should have been combined with the previous instalment, even then it would have been content-lite, but just within the window of acceptability.

Perhaps the writers thought to develop tension with this, but it is merely a dull, drawn-out dirge and my patience is running thin.
