I can't believe that poor old Adam got killed. For all his idiocy as a spy, he shouldn't have received that fate. At least most of the intrigue is over and he is exonerated. I wonder if the wife and kids have any future. That awful CIA woman, who pulled the trigger, is off and moving ahead. At least most of the bad guys got nailed. Good old Patrick gets to see the men he killed before whatever that stuff was finished him off. I was never quite clear as to what the overriding plot was politically but I guess it's a happy ending. Had there been a modicum of hope for this series, Adam would have been dealing with some new problems.

A rather disappointing ending

I kinda figured Adam was going to die after Dede caught him, so his death came as little surprise to me, but whether or not it was necessary to move the plot forward was very questionable.
The biggest, and most glaring problem with this finale was related to "Dorian".
You would think someone who murdered 5 men and remained hidden under the radar for so long wouldn't make such catastrophically stupid mistakes, like coming up with the worst lie imaginable to get the intel off Maddy, and being careless enough not to notice Kara. This reeked of utter incompetence, and seemed like it was written that way because he writers just ran out of time.
And on top of this, how on earth did Kara manage to negotiate a ticket back to Russia, when she just killed the SVR's most valuable British double agent? Obviously, the SVR knew Patrick killed Kara's men, so the notion that they would somehow not know that Kara was involved in his assassination is complete fantasy.
This show has great directing and decent acting, but unfortunately the writers simply could not keep up.

Sounded promising but failed to live up to expectations

Was mislead by the IMDB star rating. The summary sounded promising but overall it was disappointing. The story revolves around a rising star in M16 who is unexpectedly promoted to head of M16 after his boss is poisoned. However, we soon discover he is compromised and his position then begins to unravel to a dramatic ending. The premise is good but it was just not quite right. Acting good but some of the actors were too young and perfect. Maybe it would've been better with more background before the story began. In the end the story was just not clever and all a bit preposterous. It just didn't have the realism or pace that you'd expect in this kind of drama.
Hopefully a few more realistic reviews will follow.
