The Twilight of The Gods.
Sleepin_Dragon18 October 2022
With Theodora Birch employed, her digging unearths some bizarre revelations about previous occupiers of the house. A mysterious visitor gives Dean some advice.

I don't think this was perhaps on parr with that first duo of episodes, perhaps lacking the bite, but it was still good, still watchable, the acting remains the big draw for me.

We definitely learn a fair bit in this episode, it's slower paced, but it is quite revealing, it really does seem now like it's the hammer house of horrors.

The curious events of that family, what compelled John to do what he did? Was it The Watcher, and if so who or what is he or she? That's of course the main question.

Another question, why on Earth is Nora bothering with Karen, she really is the most ghastly character.

7/10.

Episode 3

Warning: Spoilers
I am officially hooked on the show. It is not that this is groundbreaking TV, but it is the perfect kind of fun murder mystery we need a lot more of.

We're seeing shows that have average joes solving cases such as Only Murders in the Building and The Resort so it looks like this is a growing trend for streaming networks.

There's a reason why though as it almost always is fun television. Easy to watch and easy to follow along with.

The only person not clicking here is Jennifer Coolidge. Her character is not working and the acting is really subpar from someone who seems to be having a moment thanks to The White Lotus.

Getting deeper

I am enjoying the slow build of the show so far. The over sexed teen, no surprise there, is all full angst. The whole township seem in on the stalking. I definitely do NOT trust the realtor, she keeps stirring the pot about maybe your husband is cheating...with a young girl...sell the house NOW! Oh, and let me be your realtor. Creepy "home inspector". Why does the police chief drive a $250k car? Lots of suspects. It's also strange how everyone has access to a locked house, plus they all know everything that the family does. Creep factor of 9 for sure. I don't understand how a kitchen remodel doesn't take apart the kitchen...but Suspense is great so far.

John's Bloody Massacre
ZegMaarJus27 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Theodora and Dean, they speak about Dean's conversation with Andrew. Karen gives some advice to Nora. Nora and Dean are having sex in the bed room. Theodora tells a story about the Graff family who lived in the house in 1995. John killed his entire family back in 1995. Nora received a new letter from The Watcher, the game is on. But who is The Watcher? They don't know yet. Nice Episode of The Watcher Season 1, another great episode of this dark thriller series. The story is getting interesting now! Still no signal of who The Watcher may be in this really good series...

Why Isn't Anyone Recognizing The Genisis of
Mehki_Girl9 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
... The John Graf story? It's literally the true story of John List.

If anything, that story is more true to the, The Watcher story than the serial version.

Although, I thought they were telling the true story of a woman with a disabled child who was outbid to buy a new house and then proceeded to torture the family afterwards. Apparently, there's another similar story?

Anyway the Graf story is lifted right out of John List murdering his wife, son, daughter, and mother in a big rambling mansion he couldn't afford.

He lined them all up, except the mom because her dead weight was too heavy to get down the stairs. He left on the classical music. Was very religious and couldn't hold a job. Went out everyday like he had a job until he hit upon the idea to murder everyone and start a need life. The wife had advanced stage syphilis.

When the case was revived, an artist created a bust of what he'd likely look like 20 years later. It was so on the mark, including the exact same glasses style that's a story in and of itself. As a matter of fact, the bust featured on America Most Wanted is what got him caught. He had the same accounting type job and was married.

The really sad part, besides murdering your family and walking away was the house had a stained glass ceiling worth thousands!

Look up the story!

Laughable Cockamamie Abound
richiehodev16 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It is abundantly clear now that the showrunners are leaning hard into embellishing this otherwise odd but intriguing real life story with as much incredulous cockamamie details as possible. In the previous episode, we had allegations of a Satanic blood worshipping cult seemingly watching over the house. Now in this episode, there is a retelling of a tragic murder that took place inside the house. This is all done through some very long and drawn out re-enactment scenes.

I don't know whether to be bewildered or flustered. This is some of the most incredulous storytelling I have ever seen. Perfect yet, literally none of these characters are worth rooting for. One should only continue binging to see just how much more laughable this series will continue to be.

The Shining Ripoff
TheFearmakers19 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Okay now we're delving into The Shining, and Ryan Murphy has gone mad with this series, which is called a limited series which means basically miniseries...

It's as some people have already written, a case of Murphy hiding his American Horror Story moniker, which everyone is sick of at this point, and calling it something else, The Watcher...

The thing, by this episode, episode 3, the whole plot of the show, the mystery of who this person is sending letters... that aspect has completely gone out the window with this new character who, like Mr. Grady in The Shining, is the previous owner and...

The Watcher isn't about The Watcher, it's a show with way too much dialogue, exposition and flashbacks. So much you won't care about the characters who we're supposed to care about.
