It is really shame that a series streaming online is done in such a cliche way. For many years, people have blamed the TV for corny and banal works that seemed to be created by a factory. Argument was that if you have seen one, then you have seen them all. However, looking at what the online streaming companies have created in recent years, the problem is not just the medium itself, rather the people who run things and who own the means. And it seemed they are not that different from their colleagues on TV. I don't say this based on just this series, I've seen many of them and, apart from few, they are made of cliches and stereotypes.
In this second season; the scenes, the characters and relations between them, the conflicts are so familiar that you feel like you watch something on TV. The first season is not that different in this sense but at least it was directed very well and the shots and the atmosphere were quite beautiful to watch.
I do not remember how many times I've seen the scene in which the main character, who is our detective, is drinking "raki" all by himself, sitting in a stereotypical, traditional Turkish tavern and talking with the owner of that place who is wise and old, and trying to talk some sense into him.
I do not remember how many times I've seen the classical conflict between our main guy who tries to do things in his own way which is against "the rules" and his boss who is more of a man of the system and tries to keep him in the line. Behzat Ç. Had done it all on TV and, to be honest, that series was much more "online" than this one in almost every aspect.
I am aware of the fact that the change of a culture and of ways of telling a story takes time and I know we, as Turkish audience and producers, are in a transition period. So I know things will be different in the future and the series streaming online will be quite different than today. But until then, do not waste your time on many Turkish online series such as this one.
