Anybody else bored of seeing the word "woke" in reviews?
ormon-0894719 March 2022
The show's really run its course. The plot doesn't make sense : what is Chuck's motivation? He used to have a personal animosity against Axe, now he's just chases Prince for no reason other than that the writers have made him do it.

Still compelling
pciulla-141-11829213 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It might not be as good without Axe, but it is still a good arc this season with the NYC Olympics.

Please disregard the review bombs and the users easily offended by cameos.

This episode shows why season 6 sucks!
sonjamin14 March 2022
How does a public servant like Chuck Rhodes have the nerve to pull a $$$ maker like the Olympics out of the hands of NYC is beyond me. Seems like a win-win for all. AND why isn't Jersey mad they got dropped altogether from consideration? So many plot hole!s! How does Taylor go from investment and analysis green genius one season to $$$ grabbing capitalist pig??? Wags is a shell of himself for no good reason and now only good to arrange hookers and parties?????

Chuck Rhodes is flawed and hypocritical by design
jimmymcnulty-4822014 March 2022
Not sure why there are so many reviews seem less focused on discussing actual quality and just being offended by Chuck's behavior. Yes, Chuck is a hypocritical trust fund kid who frequently does morally questionable things. This has been consistent with his character since season 1 so it's pretty weird to see people think that every thing Chuck does or says is something that the show is demanding the audience agree with, never mind the many scenes showing the perspectives of other characters. It's like if every IMDb review of The Sopranos was just people complaining about Tony or Christopher behaving selfishly or being hypocritical.

If seeing a morally ambiguous character expressing opinions and engaging in actions that you disagree with is this triggering to you, maybe you just shouldn't watch TV. Or at least only watch shows with morally pure characters who never engage in behavior you dislike.

Cutting out Damian Lewis is like finishing the series.
Masseh6214 March 2022
Cutting out Damian Lewis is like finishing the series off. This was one of my most favourite series. I liked the intense dialogue of Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti allot.

If the writers/producers could not think of any more storyline, why not finish the series off with a good ending? It was better to have 5 great seasons than 6 seasons with the last, utter and utter trash. This is now what people who still have not watched the series, have to look forward to. A cancer patiënt that is clinging on dear life, though everyone knows putting him out of his missery is the humane thing to do. What a waste.

Urgh

Warning: Spoilers
I'm confuse on who is the good guy and who is the bad guy here? It seems like Chuck is a bully with his power, manipulation and connection , and Mike prince is the one who got bullied. I use to loved Chuck Rhoades from previous season against Axe, now Im just annoyed with Chuck. Too early to say goodbye.

Getting Worse By the Episode
skozel13 March 2022
This episode is quite bad. The newer characters aren't interesting and their dialog has gotten terrible. The script writers aren't what they used to be.

Without Axelrod, the wild fun of the show is gone. None of these people do any the fun that would only be accessible to the insanely rich.

The Woke-ness is also getting worse, and the woke additions aren't good.

This will be Billions last season
ppetrusky15 March 2022
There's only so much "woke" I can take. Rhoades is now chasing ghosts he thinks are the income redistribution gods. Add in pictures of Stacey Abrams in the Prince office, and it's clear the producers - sorkin amd writer koppelmann - are pushing their politics all over this show. The rumor was Lewis left the show b/c he wanted to be with his family after his wife's passing (which I can relate since I lost my wife to cancer), but it's becoming obvious he was pushed out b/c the producers/writers wanted to replace the Axe character (epitome of greed, intelligence and unbridled capitalism) with the more saintly Michael Prince, who somehow made more billions by being a good doer and never used under handed tactics. This show has become a farce, echoed by the vast majority of negative ratings posted here. Goodbye Billions, it was great while you lasted...

Oh dear God
mv17166114 March 2022
Gayle King? Megan Rapinoe? Pics of Stacey Abrams? I am beginning to think Kamala Harris is writing these scripts. So much of the dialogue is word salad. This series is going down the woke trail. The new characters aren't even interesting.

RIP Billions
tjb343416 March 2022
This season reminds me of the last season of House of Cards after Kevin Spacey was fired. A once brilliant show turned into a shell of itself, and it makes me sad. RIP Billions.

Negative 5, True Rating
douglasmcbroom13 March 2022
I am now convinced that the writers and producers have adopted The Prince List as their own. I believe they are purposely trying to rid themselves of all viewers they deem to be unworthy of their woker than Thou mindset-Megan Rapinoe! Good grief!

But, I'm going to watch this Hindenburg explode and burn in all its former, now insufferable, glory.

RIP Billions.

Staggeringly bad
mr330918 March 2022
I Have watched all of the seasons of Billions. It's always been stupid, but a fun stupid. And Axe was always a great character to watch. This season has been terrible. Woke nonsense on top of t stupid depiction of the investment world. And the Chuck character is absolutely inane now.

I tried to tough through this season, hoping it might get better. It got ok in spots, mostly when Wags is on screen. But the final straw was Wendy in her office with that pink haired Rapinoe (sp?) person. Oh my. I have never seen anything so idiotic in my life. Wendy is an absurd character to begin with, but worked reasonably well off of Axe. This show is over. I turned it off when that scene came on. No more.

A full-on wokefest.
MongoLloyd16 March 2022
Man, I miss classic Billions where AG and billionaire shark were constantly locked in battle, each skirting the law to pulverize each other. This... new woke Billions is annoying beyond belief. Megan Rapinoe, LOL. A picture of an actual terrorist on the wall of Prince's firm? NYPD are "state sanctioned killers?" "Wealth reform?" WTH happened?

I'm officially done with this show
Gianopulos13 March 2022
For many reasons this show has begun sucking on many levels this season, but it wasn't until I saw that they gave airtime to the traitor US soccer player in episode 9 that I lost whatever interest that I had left.

Going down hill fast!
rpies-7125925 July 2023
Wow, a show that exhibited such promise in the beginning has now lowered itself to a rogue NYAG going after rich people for simply being rich, while simultaneously using a sorry excuse of a role model as a national hero (Megan Rapinoe). Then there's still no news on Axe? You're missing out on an amazing opportunity to show him scheming in the background to possibly upend Pince's bid on the Olymics. How about even trying to bring them to Switzerland?? Then the high paid private sector attorney now a deputy to AG Rhoads working for GS wages without so much as an explanation???

Pick up the writing or stop making the show. You can do better!!!

The big ugly is right...
kpatt200621 March 2022
This show was one of the few that my brother and I would watch each week together. It used to be so good. I was hoping the writers could pull it all together without Axe, but no, they cannot. I hate to say it, but it would've been better off getting cancelled rather than turning into the garbage it is today.

Michael Prince.... blahhh. Borrrrring
astroraven-8021715 March 2022
Prince is nothing like Axe. I know he's not suppose to be but what happened to the writing? This show went dowhill so fast. So sad. Chuck, hid dad and ex-wife maybe even Taylor are ok. The story line is just lame.

It's over
takirah2628 July 2022
I've been invested in billions since the beginning. Axe was one of a kind character with Wags right there with him. Micheal Prince is a washed out sad version of what Ax is. Taylor has now become something of a side quest that doesn't even make sense anymore. The AG... When the series first started Chuck had a personal vandetta against Ax. I get that. But what is driving chuck now? What's the reason he's going against Prince? It just doesn't make any sense. And Wags.... Poor Wags. They dumbed down his character so much it's just sad. The series should have finished when ax left.

Cameos at ok, however...
imdb-0377523 March 2022
Gayle King & Megan Rapinoe? Seriously? Prince comes across as sincere as Kurt Russell in 'Used Cars'. Mike 'Trust Me' Prince tells a tall tale and the politicos act like a bunch of hungry rubes. Barely the only thing left of the original show is the name.

Billions hits a new low, it's now unwatchable
wrsorg27 March 2022
Chuck is reduced to a broken record, repeating the same narrative over and over again (billionaires have too much and do what they want), and uses the AG chair to revisit decisions that fall outside of his mandate (such as whether to host the games or not). This reasoning is so absurd and so authoritarian. It's also an unconvincing, shallow narrative, so they throw in some overly elaborated but out-of-touch analogies; in this episode, Chuck talks about Alaskan bears for one minute. It's cringeworthy.

Chuck is also guilty of idiotic reasoning. He concludes that since Michael Prince has rich backers, he must raise state taxes so that they'll stop supporting the Olympics. What the heck. These are completely unrelated things. He's also a sitting AG who threatens people with legislation, as if he were in the executive or legislative branch. Everything he does is so unrealistic.

Wendy's entire character is deconstructed. She used to be a powerful and competent professional, always prepared and on top of the moment. Now she's visibly shaken and starstruck by Megan Rapinoe, and she questions her own credentials as a performance coach.

Last, we're again talking about a powerful billionaire who supposedly has everything and wins on everything, yet the show once again emphasizes a Stacey Abrams portrait, whose main achievement is to question elections integrity and threaten democracy. There's not a single hedge fund in the world who would (1) be political to that extent, and (2) would be dumb enough to idolize someone who has accomplished nothing.
