Dialogues filled to capacity by doomers references do not make your series better
scharinnick2 February 2022
Seriously, when each actor express their thoughts by reference to American culture, it's impossible (for me as person from completely distinct culture) to understand the meaning of scene and actor words without googling what has been said. Please stop, it's impossible.

The Eagles Have Landed

I gave the Season opener a 6, but now a 5 for 'Lyin' Eyes.' Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) is such a fatuous jerk and so is his court jester Daniel Breaker. Add the always insufferable Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillion) and you have a terrible troika of tragic twits.

Fortunately, Chuck (Paul Giamatti) is back in the saddle and his always deliciously devious father (Jeffrey DeMunn) is along for the ride. Wags (David Costabile) is up to his old tricks, and some new ones-he can sing!

The writers are killing this series, but so far there is enough meat to keep me hanging on.

Ugh! Why?
lucology10131 January 2022
Of course, the show is not as great without Axe. I don't like the first two episodes of season 6. I'll stick around though and see how things shake out. Fix it, Showtime!

Writing is awful
joe-torrisi9 February 2022
Good writing in a show is when each character has their own unique personality and traits from one another, but at this point in Billions I cringe getting through episodes with every character sounding the same and just happening to talk with these references (most of them I personally don't understand) but every character happens to understand every reference and talk like that.. That's bad writing when every character sounds the same .. To me it's not even about Axe being gone and I enjoy seeing how a company goes about shorting a stock and playing dirty with information because it shows how people like Wall Street are the real mobsters .. They even make a lot of Godfather references which I don't mind but so yeah it's not the plot at this point that bothers me it's the dialogue.. It just goes to show how good writing can make bad actors look good, but bad writing can't even save the best of actors.

Are you kidding??

What happened? This is another current Holly-Woke Joke! Billions is done. The writing, the acting, the concept...,in the toilet. Just like season 4 of Fargo, Holly-Woke ruined it. Axe was the man. Period.

I should have left the show earlier when Taylor Mason arrived. Maybe Prince will set up a safe space for crying, hugging puppies , and sipping cocoa.

Buh bye!

It's finding it's feet
leskenn-201-10805815 February 2022
Big shoes were needed to be filled when Axe left. It's not going to happen in three episodes.

We need more Wags. Give him the role of right hand man again. Prince's Guy isn't entertaining.

I don't get the NY 2028 plot. It's too late to bid for a Games that is just 6 years away - it's not NY. Or is this show set in the past and I hadn't noticed ?

Actually I'll bump up my review a bit to counter the haters who think woke is a term of abuse. I despair for the human race sometimes.

Wow, I'm with earlier reviews, Goodbye Showtime
bensloughrin-787-3322656 February 2022
This has gotten worse with each season. It is pedantic, and now has achieved an unbelievable story line. I wish i were a Showtime customer so I could cancel. They'll just have to take my word for it.

Just love the writing

Warning: Spoilers
The Piper Perabo scene in Prince's office was perfect written, although I hope she doesn't give in to his play to get her back.

Note that the Hackman scene is from Heist and they actually said that in during the scene about Wags attempt to save Rask.

I just can't
rankinmtj10 February 2022
Sadly they're circling the drain here. I can appreciate that they lost Damian Lewis to a personal tragedy but to move the narrative 180 degrees towards woke diatribes is not entertaining. I could tolerate Paul Giamatti (barely) as the rival of Axe but now he's just annoying and a self righteous caricature. All good things come to an end but it should have been at the end of last season. It's like the show runners from GOT got another job....

Where's the play here?!
drasanen-678431 February 2022
So far in the season can't tell who's going after whom or where the drama is. The Writing for the Prince character is really lame...can he be trusted by the "Axe" crew or can't he. The Chuck Rhoades' character's plot is really searching for a Bobby adversary so far too. Very disappointed right now.

Billions is finished without Axe
ehd-797738 February 2022
Corey Stoll is miscast and flat out just boring. I will actually root for Chuck to take him down. There is no chemistry between Prince and Wendy or Prince and Wags. Prince is just too uninteresting to carry the lead for this show. A better story line would of been to have a significant portion of Axe cap quit and start their own shop with Wags heading it going after Prince to bring him down.

This season is nothing at all like seasons 1-5. It's jumped the shark. I'll no longer wait a week for the next episode. I'll wait until the season and series comes to an end and watch it when there is nothing else on.... I mean no Gilligan's Island, no Seinfeld, .... I'll rewatch GOT, Ozark, Soprano's, Entourage, and Succession before I finish this..... maybe the writers should re-edit this series to 3 or 4 seasons. RIP.

What a crock
nytrip91120 August 2022
This is the most ridiculous pseudo altruistic drivel I've ever watched. Billions used to be a prizefighter story. Now it sounds like a bunch of entitled Karens spouting one-liners from old movies that only the over 60's remember while still trying to be relevant by name dropping AOC like it's what the "cool kids" do. Please. All aging billionaires do not try assuage their guilt, and the ones that do are usually the biggest hypocrites of all. Gates and Soros included. These producers/writers have bought into their own brand of BS. It's depressing as hell.

Absolute Garbage!!
chris_p_batter31 January 2022
Well that was the last episode of this I'll ever watch. Santimonious Mike Prince and his woke agenda, are boring. Why do they have to ruin every great show by filling it with Liberal nonsense? There's already enough of that in the real world, we don't need it ruining once great tv shows!!

milan_kovacevic-0422 February 2022
It's one thing when And just like that does it and tooootally different when show like Billions does it. Pls stop or you'll start losing viewers.

Stating how cool AOC is and Orange Man bad is just such a lame punch. No major stock player talks such bs.

Typical liberals
frankvoisine3 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When you can't get your way you plant fake evidence (turtles in this case). The show was great and not made for wokeness, it was great because it was cut throat and now that is gone. Along with most of your viewers.

Poor script
deansolar6 April 2022
Can't handle any more of chucks voice. Not alone on this one, several friends have said the same. Why Prince doesn't have someone watching him and sussing out his next moves is beyond me.

Too woke
FrankHonest8 May 2022
We expect the standard bias from Hollywood and this show has had it. It was tolerable.

But this I just absurd now.

This show is now just Democrat propaganda. "Billionaires shouldn't exist", AOC advertising, activist investing; all this on top of the woke they/them stuff. Come on... How much is the DNC paying y'all?

Another dropped series
jponteaarc3 March 2022
This show lasted this long because of the powerful people in the finance world and how they went to war with each other. Now it's starting for the liberals to push their agenda now that your sucked in. Could be another dropped series I started watching if this keeps up.

One of the Best
toneybrooks200330 January 2022
All episodes are exceptionally good but this is one of my favorites. The writing is clever and witty including the usual hat tips to great movies. This episode even features a short Gene Hackman clip from (I think; please correct me) Split Decisions. Fabulous fun.
