One more...

Are they never running out of Covid stereo types to portray?

And now also racial profiling?

Honestly seems like they have some odd greater agenda...

Stop
eoinpgeary16 April 2021
The show is becoming obsessed with racial profiling and Covid, spreading awareness is good don't get me wrong but the whole season!! People watch shows to get away from Covid not have to deal with it there too, the entire story with Maggie this episode was awful, in the states it's obvious racism is really bad but because your boyfriend is pulled over you automatically freak out about everything and think he's dead, is that not destroying the reputation of any good police man or woman?

Merediths story is getting boring and repetitive every episode now, it feels like I'm watching a show about issues not about crazy cases with patients and the drama with the doctors.

Please stick to good stories and stop bombarding it with political issues every episode.

Enough!!
natbro9616 April 2021
This season has been either Covid or political related.

Enough already!

Get back to being great again.

I watch tv to escape not a rerun of the news.

Preaching
Twin-8416 April 2021
Enough already. This show needs to quit with the preaching, the political agenda, poor script, and poor acting. It's like the staff just copied ideas from news captions and slaps in alittle of a Grey's medical situations. This is not the same great show I once was.... several years ago. It's time to say goodbye!

Good episode covering a period of upheaval
amabel-598-37718723 June 2021
Felt I needed to provide a balance to all these negative reviews.

Yes, this episode and this season feels stuck in the past with Covid and the death of George Floyd but it is a medical drama so it is right that it covers Covid. And it is a show with a high proportion of non-white characters so of course they will react to a national news story about the death of a black man. As for being in the past well it was written and filmed in 2020 so of course it feels behind the times but how else could they write the show which exists in our world?

From a story point of view it is moving forward the character arcs in a way that Grey's has always done which has often been outside of medical emergencies. It is not as brilliant as previous season but it is not awful as the rest of these reviews would have you believe.

You can tell the type of viewers from their reviews
LollyLaurenPop16 June 2021
I don't understand the hate for this episode, for a show about a hospital and a cast of mostly people of colour its ridiculous to me that people are surprised they are dealing with these issues.

Its showing how hard police brutality is on people, how stupid some people have been thinking that covid is a hoax.

If you want a show that doesn't talk about actual issues watch something else, stop complaining and stick your head back in the sand.

I Have A Dream
ZegMaarJus24 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Jackson, he is running in the morning. Jackson sees that there are anti racism protests in Seattle. Richard is going to the protests today, he tells this to Bailey. Winston is on his way to Seattle. The police pulled Winston his car over. Jackson and Catherine have a heated discussion about the anti racism protests. Winston arrived in Seattle, he is hugging with Maggie. Solid Episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 17, this was not so good. The quality is lower and lower this Season. Where are the good storylines with some good characters? This is too much about covid and race, not about the hospital anymore!

Real life stories
Gaylynn20922 May 2021
I am a white woman in my late 50's. I can't believe people are upset about "Truths" that is going on. Bravo for Grey's tackling the hard subjects. I was holding my breath that Winston would be okay. Keep telling the true stories and I'll keep watching.

I'm so done.
NurseNana1416 April 2021
This episode wasn't done for entertainment it was constant lecturing about politics. I fast forwarded most of the episode. It had zero to do with medical or drama with docs. I won't be watching greys or station 19 anymore until the writers get back to entertaining and not preaching to us constantly. If I wanted to be preached to I'd watch the news. Enough with Covid too. I want to forget about Covid and politics, it's why we watch television.

T.V can't just be entertainment! Stop whining.
gabbymoulton9 May 2021
I see all these 1/10 reviews simply because you didn't like the message and you don't watch tv for politics but just for entertainment. It must be nice to look at something with such privilege and think "I'm so sick of being lectured to". Clearly we haven't been lectured enough as nothing has changed. Media is so powerful. One of our most powerful tools and I for one think, for once, it's being used to give a message that needs the air time. Maybe some need to go back and have a look at some of the other powerful messages that Grey's has given us over the years- capital punishment, gay rights, disability support, PTSD/ mental health to name a few. It's not new. It's just that this message is so raw.

Plus I'm not sure I've ever felt something for a character as quickly as I have for Winston. He's now a favourite.

Why?
martyup-949-8393116 April 2021
Why are all of my favorite shows preaching issues down my throat? This is not why we watch TV. Hollywood you are out of touch. Also, Greys, you are a few months behind.

Recall the Grey's sexual assault episode that received rave reviews? It was a raw and empathy-inducing episode. I'm frustrated that folks who are in a privilege position get to complain about episodes like this, that they can't find their "escape," when a lot of the scenes featured in this episode writ large in people's real lives. There's no escaping for them. The least we can do is to reflect and try to be in their shoes for a little less than an hour.

Ok...ok

Warning: Spoilers
In my country, there are also serious social issues, but in this show, it assumes that all minorias suffer and all whites are bad, the protagonist (I love her) is white and everyone loves her too, but she is the only one. The others on this show, the writers indicate that we should hate them for being '' privileged ''.,. Enough of that !, the show is for entertainment, not just for the political agenda, we see it all the time in newspapers and on TV.

An impressing episode portraying a bitter truth
SallyWilliams17 April 2021
I'm european and I'm white, and I rarely felt this everyday shadow hanging over POC in the US so intense. It wasn't portrayed stereotypical, the doctor wasn't beaten, it was this anxiety that was portrayed perfectly. The last episode of Grey's that touched me so strongly was when this abused woman walked through the corridor, flanked by all the female characters. I know that stupid & ignorant white people don't like this episode, because they want to escape, they just want a good medical soap opera. But this is what makes this series so extraordinary, it has so much reality & truth in the stories they tell. I'm glad the producers don't give in to that crap and tell these important stories of everyday life.

Seriously 😡😤
mommycoppel16 April 2021
This is past annoying. I'm so sick of all my favorite shows pushing the racial profiling and COVID scar mission. Enough is enough. I watch tv to get away from reality. Please, please, please I beg you, just get back to good storytelling.

Wonderful episode, representing a profound truth
eapersun17 April 2021
Funny to see all the people here reviewing this episode harshly with one star and talking about pushing the liberal agenda down their throats. It is honestly laughable, if it weren't so sad that there are so many people out there that don't get that the portrayal in this episode was so true and real to the world we currently live in. I get that you like to escape reality when watching TV but if that is really the case, why are you watching this show? Why were you ever? It has always been reasonably true to what happens in the world, along with a little showboating of procedures that haven't ever been tried or are a little far fetched. But Shonda has always written episodes based on life. So get over it and no one cares if you quit watching. I won't as I am along for the ride all the way to the end. Beautiful episode and really made me sad to put myself in the shoes of someone else's experiences in how life happens to them and their experiences. A+++++

Big old pile of propoganda. I think they covered ever social issue in this episode.

They've really sucked the enjoyment of the show.

Excellent important episode
michelle-plassing17 June 2021
So important to show what is going on in the real world. Someone wrote that they didn't know what was happening in America...wow, seriously!! Such an ignorant sheltered view of the real world.

The real world is filled with politics and is messy. So some saying that it should be based on medicine only....how about looking up real statistics and how many people are injured or beaten up because of racism. Greys is based on real life, not just real life medical procedures. So it's ok to get caught up and watch the romantic stories on greys but not actual important issues that are actually life and death for some people. Covid is real life, racism is real life, politics is real life. If you don't want to watch about real life issues then don't....go watch something on the sci fi channel ffs.

Sick of your liberal propaganda. Would be better if your dramas were thought provoking instead of ideology crammed down our throats. So hoping this will be the final season - unfortunately Grey's overstayed their welcome.

One of the best episodes this season
categregory-2953716 April 2021
I'm shocked by the ratings of this episode. Yes clearly the show isn't what it used to be and I understand that it can be difficult to watch a show about covid when we are currently living through it. BUT greys anatomy is doing a fantastic job of tackling these tough issues and although I do agree the show has gone downhill since around season 10, this season has been so important and specifically this episode about fighting against racism and I am shocked by the bad reviews for this episode.

Get back to when the show was good!
annette-8753620 April 2021
Enough already. This show used to be my favorite show but is just regurgitating the news over and over. It's getting so dull!! I watch this show to escape and for entertainment. I loved past seasons. George, Denny, Derrick, Mark, Addison, etc. The stories were interesting and excellent! If I wanted to constantly hear about Covid etc then I would watch the news. Enough already!!! Ellen Pompeo is getting paid to lay on her back for weeks! I'm so sick of that story line!! Start writing some interesting stories or just stop writing all together! If this is the last season it's certainly NOT going out on top!

I'm not surprised at the rating for this episode. It holds an important message that unfortunately some people can't see tarnishing their evening television. Some people are stupid.

Fantastically done.

Like it. Everything is political
eugeniarossanigo5 May 2021
All this people who is disgusting about the episode sure are WHITE north americans (yes, in América Latina specially in Argentina we are also americans). Life is about politics, understand it, you ... people.

About the episode, I love that it deals with something other than romance.
