Disappointing reboot

This reboot has been a disappointment so far and pales in comparison to the original series. I love Phil Lord and Chris Miller and nearly all of the work that they've done, but this just doesn't live up at all.

First off, the biggest things holding back this show are the degraded voice acting and the removal of Ghandi from the show. I understand why they did this to Ghandi, considering that he caused the original show's cancellation. But if you're going to write him out, at least give him one worthy replacement. Instead of giving him one worthy replacement character, the writers insisted on giving us a chock full of lousy and boring new characters to somehow patch the void that Ghandi left behind, but failed miserably in the process.

I still hope for the best for this reboot despite my gripes with it, but this season has paled in comparison to the original source material. And if it continues at this mediocre rate, then I believe that the show would be better off staying cancelled and untouched.

What An Amazing Introduction

I cant believe what I'm gonna say but I'm very impressed. The intro sounds good and catchy & the show looks good, the voice acting is somewhat different but thats what you get for a show that takes place 20 years after the first show, the show's animation is quite unique and still looks fresh. I like how the first episode really dives deep with how much change has occurred within 20 years with social media and how certain words and meanings have changed like its good and its relevant. But anyway the first episode is amazing, Its like nothing has changed about the Og Clones but everything else around them did I hope that this show continues doing good cause Its far better then Velma by a Long shot.

very bad first episode

New look at clone high is disappointing to say the least. Focusing the first episode on cancel culture was extremely cringe-worthy and i honestly had a hard time finishing the episode. The voices acting doesnt feel the same, the characters dont feel the same or even similar to the original. Ghandi being written out is very disappointing too.

I guess maybe we just live in a post-clone high world but it would have been great for the show to stick to its roots in humour and plot, especially since its HBO. The addition of new clones i think are cool, but im not sure how they really invoke their famous parent. Im really not a fan of all the throw away explanation they give to why things have changed; like ghandi, toots, the freezing of the clones. Who is the new villain? Whats her deal? We don't know. The first episode really gives this was written by 13 year olds.

I waited 20 years for this? They completely changed the style of the show, the humor, characters, and introduction are all different in a bad way. Many characters that made the show good in the original have been removed and turned into one line explanations explaining their disappearance. Ghandi's disappearance: Abe saying "You know, normally I'd check in with my bro Ghandi at times like this. I think he's been avoiding me." (Cuts to him frozen and never mentions him again.) SUPER FUNNY. Also, cancel culture is definitely one of the most pressing issues to high school students, which is what this entire episode is! And let's introduce characters from 20 years ago to TikTok!! Yayy!!! This show and Velma share the same "style" of "writing". Out of touch and utterly embarrassing, show would have been better off left to die, as sad as that is.

I didn't expect to see clone high available to watch, ever. It felt like a blast from the past... the first episode started off really strong. I was hooked. They had a real solid continuation off the last episode 20 years ago. And even dive bombed into that cliffhanger we've all been waiting to see, or learn about... it all seemed so satisfying... then one of the lead characters starts going off about glass ceilings literal, and figurative. (Oh so clever) and then, for reasons unknown to science, the writers in 2023 decided to just go ahead and add new famous people that aren't that famous. Sorry but if I gotta google search who someone is, and if chat gpt doesn't even know who topher bus is, then my goodness... those people aren't that famous....

Getting past this, The first episode turns stale pretty quick for shoe horning in todays monotonous themes of race and gender equality.... Guess the whole glass ceiling joke wasn't enough... honestly it's pretty clear where this new series is going and that's a big imma head out from me. Very very Boring.
