Good movie, a cliff hanger
melgrn-6452924 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We enjoyed this movie. It had some tense moments. Crazy stuff! Be careful who you trust! People sometimes are not who/what they seem! But we didn't like how they ended the movie without addressing Kyle's mom. How long was that cruise?

It's somewhere between 4 and 5

I guess the budget was very limiting and they did very well. Many scenes are cringe, but overall it is okay movie. No big surprises in it though. Enjoy.

Typical Lifetime
Farfallina781 August 2021
The actors used in Reel One, Mar Vista etc movies bought by Lifetime get progressively worse. No exception here, except for the old woman/main character.

Not a bad way to pass a rainy afternoon, but usually endings show some sort of epilogue with the baddie either in jail or a psych ward. Instead here we get a kumbaya shot maybe 2 years later.

This movie is a nightmare

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is so unbelievable. This old lady who looks to be about 100 is supposed to be able to kill both the social worker and Kyle's mom; then dispose of their bodies by herself and no one is suspicious of anything. She's so scary that the young woman, Angela, leaves town. There's so much unbelievable stuff in this movie that it's ridiculous. Why would Kyle go to meet the ex by the restroom and not tell his wife? He should've just ignored her message. And who's that trusting of a neighbor that you've just laid eyes on? I definitely would NOT recommend this movie.

Better than expected.

Good acting by all. The villain both annoyed and creeped me out. For her part, she was a masterful manipulator and Sarah's desperate need for connection made it so easy. The most facepalm-worthy moments were how trusting Sarah became so fast. Even with her loneliness and trying to rebuild the trust with Mark her husband, Helen was so pushy and aggressive, I think the movie should have had her at least react to that either as a moment with herself or maybe saying something to her best friend Jen. It wasn't necessarily believable that it took her being kidnapped to finally get something was off with Helen. In some ways, her history made it work and I don't think she was an idiot or anything for believing Helen, but hopefully she'll never be so trusting again. Lifetime has movies where gullible protagonists get people murdered, and Sarah wasn't one of those kinds of protags.

Another movie set in the winter time, and I gotta say, I love it. It adds to the mood and feeling of isolation of the situation as opposed to the sunny, Canadian "LA" backdrops of most of the films.

I recommend at least one watch and judge for yourself.

Got To Love LM!
gab-675994 August 2021
No, really. I love LM and for me this was a good movie. Not the best but not the worst either. I thought Ms. Borsellino had a beautiful smile. This movie could have done with some comic relief, it was a bit too serious for me to love it. But it did the job in keeping me interested while I finish a giant diamond poster of Elvis just in time for my mothers bday on the 6th. No complaints here, if you like LM it is just like the rest of them. Nothing new or special, just more of the same.

The house and that old woman's Evil grin earn this 3 points!
midnitepantera31 July 2021
This is basically an average acted lifetime type movie. It's been done before 100 times and much better than this. And who can dig in frozen ground??? :o Too much stuff going on that is just plain IMPOSSIBLE to swallow and was just downright laughable. I say pass on this unless your just SUPER BORED! :(

A good comedy with the most anti climatic ending possible
teensystag26 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie simply because I knew it would be incredibly corny, low-budget, and just cringey all around. Who is funding these movies? And why do they hate horror? Like if this is what thrillers are supposed to be then the genre would have died ages ago. The acting is terrible and robotic, the story isn't as complicated as the creators would like to think, and instead of being bone chilling it's laughable. I recommend this film if you want a good laugh lol...and as for the ending...oh my god. Apparently Helen has kidnapped the main character (played by an actress who has the emotional depth of a kiddie pool) and taken her to a house waaaaaay out in the middle of nowhere, where she'll live with her forever and yada yada yada, and yet the cops arrive just in time to save the day. There was hardly a climax at all lmao...anyways, like I said, don't take this movie seriously and you'll have a good time.

Watch out for your nosey neighbor!!!
Chartreuse17 August 2021
Helen knows where the bodies are buried! This Lifetime movie was very well done. Sarah and Kyle are going to have a baby. Helen, their neighbor, has no family but not for long if she has anything to say about it. The film was beautifully shot during the winter in Canada and had a very good script. Strong acting. Highly recommended! More like this.....
