To see what's in front of you is a constant struggle

This episode leans on a few tired tropes, but given the writing to-date, it has banked enough credit to let it slide. The process of finding the magic-bullet redux feels a little contrived and serendipitous, but in fairness its existence has been heavily foreshadowed over several episodes and comes as no surprise.

The court scenes are creative, credible and captivating.

"The Magic Bullet Redux"

The courtroom scenes in The Lincoln Lawyer seem to get better with every episode that goes by. I'm definitely no legal expert, but the scenes appear to me to be pretty realistic - they obviously have some very good legal experts.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo continues to steal every scene as Mickey Haller. Australia's Angus Sampson is great as reformed (I assume) bikie turned investigator Cisco. And I have previously made my thoughts clear on Neve Campbell, as the dedicated Maggie McPherson - she and Garcia-Rulfo have great chemistry.

This is an incredibly well-cast show, and without the talented actors and actresses, The Lincoln Lawyer would just be one more courtroom drama. There are plenty of those, of course, and The Lincoln Lawyer rises above. My only complaint? Only ten episodes and this is episode 8. I guess I'm conditioned to broadcast television because these streaming series are almost all too short. Ten episodes on TV, and the season is just hitting it's straps.

The Supposed Coup de Gras

Warning: Spoilers
Through some incredible attention to detail, Mickey is able to show reasonable doubt. He calls witnesses who have limited knowledge but who were peripherally involved with characters in the drama. Of course, it isn't enough that there is a pending not guilty verdict--the idiot feels he needs to take the stand which will allow the prosecutor to go after him with everything. He has been lying all along and that's exactly what opposing council can't wait for.

Minor quibble

SPOILER ALERT

Sonia Patel's testimony is almost entirely hearsay. And this is not the sort of hearsay that legal procedurals often contain solely to move the story along. The is no witness who can come forward and testify as to what the deceased said to them, especially to try to ascribe a motive for the husband to kill the wife.

I like the prosecutor.. dude is great.. actor too.. trial scenes are the highlight of the episodes.. seeing mickey in action.. everybody is good besides neve campbell and her boring boss.

The kid is also annoying.. they could have made her more smirky and sassy lol.. like those interactions between arya and tywin lannister.

Things are building up and i am excited to see what happens since it has been over 10 years that I read Michael Connelys first book with haller.

And then we had the magic bullet scene.. pretty good huh.. he is a genius. I liked it

so still we had maggie's boring case.. i dont remember if in the first book there was her case alongside his but every time her case is on screen i just kept thinking about mickeys trial.

Ohh nice, mickey brought back that guy that got thrown in jail because cop was salty because he got with his ex or something hahha well played.

Nice of mickey to rescue his friend.. well done.. he is human after all and he takes care of his buds.
