"Where do you draw the line? Do you have a line?"

Things get more complicated and dangerous for Mickey as he follows the money to discover who Jerry bribed and why. We see flashbacks to discover how he became a defence attorney following in his fathers footsteps. A well paced episode with the main plot and the supplementary strands all moving along nicely.

The World Just Moved Up a Notch

As Mickey moves through all the layers, he has only feelings to go on. But at the end of this episode a major force is introduced. We have some flashbacks of Mickey as a kid, hanging out with his highly moral lawyer father. There are chances for speeches and justification. I have to say, however, that like so many mafia type realities, how does one begin to get out of this?

Warning: Spoilers
I always enjoy a good flashback, and we got one to "young Mickey" to open the episode, with his dad and one of his dad's colleagues. Then, in the present day, Mickey is having breakfast with none other than Elliott Gould, an older version of his dad's colleague from the opening flashback scene. And there was a flashback to end the episode, as well!

There was also a cameo from Carlos Bernard as a DA candidate. I absolutely loved "24" and I was an enormous fan of Tony Almeida in that show, played, of course, by Carlos Bernard. When Tony was revealed to be a bad guy...ouch.

Anyway...excuse my trip down memory lane. Back to The Lincoln Lawyer. Another good episode! I'm pretty convinced Mickey and Maggie are going to end up together in some fashion, for better or worse. And the final few minutes were intense. The twist regarding the bribe that Mickey has been investigating for the last few episodes was a bit of a surprise, and it backs Mickey into a pretty tight corner as the whole story comes tumbling out of Trevor's mouth. The revelation really makes me want to abandon sleep and binge-watch the remaining four episodes in one hit to find out what happens.

Another episode, things moving along.. mickey frustrated because people are lying to him..

i am confused with the case of jesus.. witness running away i guess.. anyway

too bad they did not elaborate on lorna meeting with that asian dude.. i guess she was studying law but dropped out for some reason.. i really dont remember.. I read the first haller book probably more than 10 years ago..

so far i think they captured the essence of the character.. a bit more than bosch.

A lot of cases at the same time but i did not get too confused.. which is a miracle with these new shows that have like 8 or 10 episodes so everything feels rushed.

Lorna and first wife... ackward...

oh boy.. Russians? That is lame.. but ok.

The Russians Are Coming.

Warning: Spoilers
I thought the wealthy tech defendant guy was playing mental chess with Attorney Heller. That held my interest, so much so that I tolerated the boring side stories, Heller's increasingly nosy driver, some pc talking points and Heller's legal ambiguity despite being an Attorney-At-Law. Anyway, the big reveal that the Russian mob, who put up the capital for Tech Guy's business, killed Tech Guy's Wife and her side dude and Tech Guy's original attorney, killed any interest I had in this show. I'm bored with Hollywood's go-to big bad Russian mob storyline.
