Excellent episode

This episode does a great job of merging American and Nigerian cultures, highlighting both the similarities and the differences. Makes for an entertaining and interesting watch. And they bring out the go-get-'em in several characters, giving them the opportunities to move beyond previous boundaries.

And it really made me wish I could visit Abishola's church. Those scenes were brilliant.

Makes you think

Great episode. The way they show us how different cultures insist that individuals in families must behave -- like it or not -- makes you get it that we're all voluntarily putting ourselves in prisons trying to abide with rules ancient civilizations dreamed up for reasons that have nothing to do with what's going on today.

Bravo.

The Dad Ruins the Show
vintagegeek23 February 2021
The show has gone downhill with the negativity introduced with the Dad showing up. It greatly reduces the role of the other players. Instead of being an uplifting comedy it's become a depressing drama.
