Incredible ending had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. What a show. Great job and best of luck to all involved.

'Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Sinaloa goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes
Goes "A-a-a-h".'
The correct 5 people end up exactly how and
where they should.
Gonna miss all of you. It's been a great ride!!
Thanks to everyone.

10 out of 10. This is how a series finale should be !!!

The final season was as strong as the first. Without giving any spoilers, I was surprised by a few of the twists in the last episode. I was so satisfied, I re-watched the finale a week later to see if the episode was as good as I thought. It was. Thank you Queen of the South for wrapping up the story !!!
What can I say?

Not the ending they deserve

Warning: Spoilers
They killed a LOT of people, and distributed large amounts of drugs across the country... frankly none of these four deserve this happy ending. A life of crime with no consequences. No one forced any of them to be into this life, yet they do, they do damage and then just leave the game.
A flawed although fitting ending

While this finale gives the characters a happy ending and a nice conclusion to the whole story arc, I dislike the narrative structure presented in the episode. It opens with Teresa getting shot seemingly by James, and we then see Pote mourning and for a second it felt real but then her body is never shown, and there's no chance in hell that James is going to kill Teresa. So the thing is, Teresa faking her death is so painfully obvious that the twist or reveal towards the end felt underwhelming and unsatisfying. It also doesn't help that she's completely sidelined in the finale of the show that's solely built around her character. This finale belongs to Pote as it's his arc that derives the plot as so we get excited and get more triumphant feeling to see his character overcome many obstacles and deals with their arc enemies once and for all. Some side characters also have a fitting ending; Boaz gets what he deserves. The brawl scene in which he fights Pote was brutal and intense but suspense is practically non-existent as there's no way he's coming out alive and Pote isn't. Dumas who turns to a tad sympathetic character plays a good role in the grand plan and helps Pote. Moreover, he gets to finish Teresa's dream project; the waterfront, so good for him. Devon, the Shady CIA agent who comes late in the game but turns Teresa's world upside down. James is also absent in the majority of the episode, and he didn't do much, actually overall this season he's been relegated to the guy who just does the dirty work, but then again hasn't he always been? He's darn good at what he does and his character gets a fitting happy conclusion.
On the whole, the season 5 of Queen of the South is a good addition to the show and also one of the top season. In the season, we are not dealing with inexperienced Teresa from Culiacan or Teresa who runs errand, what we have here is the boss Teresa who calls the shot and is willing to take drastic action against those opposing her ( think those waterfront guys who tried to blackmail her). This Teresa understands the repercussion that comes with the drug business. Teresa's character development is second to none.
I also really appreciate when shows ended with a feeling of closure and the writers are given the opportunity to complete the story, unlike when shows are axed halfway through with a cliffhanger. I think it's a good idea to end the show now than for it to end up being cancelled. Kudos to the cast and crew for making such an amazing show. I had a good time with it.

Fantastic Series Finale

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't even know season 5 was coming until I saw the new episodes advertised on Netflix. So off course I had no option but to binge all 10 episodes over a couple of days. Over all it has been a great series but I'm assuming there will be no season 6. Afew people have criticised the finale as being predictable and in all honesty, it was, but that was completely OK by me. After all, most of us enjoy a happy ending. :)
Honest Review

I wish I would write more reviews. What I've learnt is that most reviews are on two sides of a spectrum, either it was amazing or it was terrible. Well, this one is no different, it was an amazing finale. Keeping it simple, it gave us closure. Too many times recently have shows ended with me wanting more, this wasn't one of them.
A Hallmark Moment
doug2go23 April 2022
The ending was a surprise because few series try to emulate Hallmark's happy endings - this was fun and satisfying to conclude an adventure of a young women who was a survivor at first , tactician , strategist , escape artist and ruthless when she had to be while rising to the top of a mans criminal world . It was the trip to the conclusion that made this series special . Cudo's to the writers, Directors and show runners along the way . This may be the 3rd series I would consider buying when it comes out on DVD if Netflix decides to remove it from the menu ( Queens Gambit and Business Proposal are the other two. ) All with feel good endings and lots of romance ( I'm a Leo)
I literally cried the last few minutes of this episode

Well done Teresa. That's all I can say. I was so mad at James the entire episode until the last few Minutes when I found out that he was not the bad guy.
This season was amazing and the last episode was just a cherry on top. This was such an amazing show.

Can't believe they totally ruined this!

They pushed content that should have belonged into an entire season into an extremely rushed single episode. Come on! This is the poorest finale i've ever seen in my life and it totally ruined the series! Its a disgrace!!
No idea what all these other people are talking about

If you've followed along the journey of Queen of the South, you can't help but feel cheated by this lazy story writing. The season finale was so bad my wife and I found ourselves laughing as if it was a comedy. Nothing made any logical sense, the show went from a gritty drug lord tv show, to this Disney happy ending finale we have in front of us. Watch the series finale, but be honest it did not end well.
It needed a better ending
