I'll be sad to see this go
jennifertrathan29 May 2021
I've just binge watched the third and final season. As it was only 6 x 25 minute episodes it didn't take too long. I wasn't impressed with the first episode, I thought Norman's funeral was in poor taste when they brought in Madelyn confessing the intimate details of her and Norman's sex life. Then the wake where she comes across as totally deranged.

But, it got better, especially after Kathleen Turner turned up as Sandy's first ex-wife Roz. Turner and Douglas are still magic on the screen together and by the final episode, their scenes are both hilarious and heart breaking.

I did get a kick out of Morgan Freeman's appearances, especially the filming of Quincy, where he plays a non-binary, gender fluid version of the coroner. So funny and hopefully not the way TV is going to end up.

The final episode's ending wrapped all the strands of Sandy's life up. (I especially found Norman's daughter and grandson's story made me giggle). They were both happy and sad at the same time and although this season wasn't as good as 1 & 2 it was still head and shoulders above most TV comedies.

A wonderful show

I really hadn't laughed so hard at a comedy series is such a long time. Yes, I missed Norman, but the addition of Kathleen Turner was golden - she is such a beautiful actress and if she doesn't get some kind of recognition (Emmy, Golden Globe, anything else), it will be a crime. Great season - love this show!

Wonderful / Thanks for creating some art!

There are very little TV shows nowadays that are deep and brilliant. But The Kominsky Method, with its stellar leading casting, is awesome. It will make you laugh and cry, and think about life, death, love, and art.

I watched this third and (sadly) last season in only 2 days (and I hardly ever watch TV shows). I couldn't stop! The great writing and Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Paul Reiser were absolutely fantastic!

Thanks a lot for creating some art! 10/10.

Great series!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and will hate to see it go. Funny, charming, heart felt acting from some of the greatest actors of our time.

A Quiet Ending
BoomerFan30 May 2021
Season three lacks the energy and focus of the first two, but still had enough moments to be worth seeing a 3 hour binge. Alan Arkin's Norman was sorely missed; his needy heirs were annoying distractions, as was Paul Reiser's Martin. They were never central to Sandy's story. On the other hand, the on-screen chemistry between Michael Douglass and Kathleen Turner was magic. In the end, this artificially shortened final season brought Sandy to an appropriate place. Life goes on.

Good Enough Ending of a Good Series
TheFearmakers30 May 2021
Have forgiveness for the negative reviews of some of the previous Season 3 episodes but this is one of those Final Seasons that really could have been summed up in a 2-hour movie.

Not much happened and it was awkward getting past Alan Arkin but by this last episode, despite the farfetched premise of a no name Sandy being cast by Barry Levinson, a director known for hiring the biggest names in town, and rehiring them again and again, over and over... plus a somewhat sappy ending... This isn't about one particular episode or even season but the entire series ended here as well...

And it was a good series, while it lasted, and yet it didn't last very long, and there were too few episodes per season, especially here... But the entire thing seemed like an intentional Hallmark Card of ironic humor, passing through life in the 11th hour.

And it was nice seeing Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas having plenty of time together. It seemed that the somewhat annoying cliche Paul Reiser was Arkin's replacement, but in reality, it was Turner... and that worked fine. Again, though, it took the entire final season to really enjoy... the entire final season.

season 3 was a downer

I really didnt care for season 3. There was an occasional joke or chuckle but losing alan arkin killed this show. I am glad it is over. I was very disappointed in season 3.

Nope

The season 1 and 2 are "Classic Coke", the season 3 is just some tepid, off-brand, generic cola.

It's Over

I guess it couldn't go any farther once Arkin was gone. This wraps things up in a kind a sick way. I won't go into detail, but it is a rather overdone final piece where things can make us feel good despite sad losses. It was an OK series, quite good at times.

Chapter 22

Warning: Spoilers
This wasn't a bad episode, seeing Sandy get the glory was a good ending, but it just felt weird.

This did not feel like the same show, it felt like the end to a network sitcom or something.

Simply not funny
drbru-562053 June 2021
First two seasons were brillant, intelligent humor touching difficult subjects like death, gettig old, lack of friends etc. In a very smart and entertaining way. Season 3 is nothing like it, hardly funny, too serious.

No wonder America is screwed
sswren12 June 2021
Good series overall but the language and interactivity in the street as depicted in this episode is indicative of a sick dysfunctional society.
