I cant say this enough, love Douglas and Turner, they have great chemistry and it just about makes up for missing Arkin. Storyline is well developed and great acting.

Turner to Douglas

Do I miss Alda? Yes. Is Kathleen Turner amazing? Yes. I'm serious, KT owns every scene, her voice, her comedic timing with Douglas, she's fallen into that Katey Bates category of screen presence, last episode you had Morgan Freeman and Kathleen Turner speaking and it was ephura to my ears.

Sudden change in character

Phoebe clearly started to be more humble at the end of season 2, why all of a sudden is she like a Harry and Marv act with Robbie trying to get Norman's money? Doesn't really make much sense, still a great episode filled with the regular witty humour and great emotional undertones.

I have been binging on this last season and I love how Paul Reiser's Martin is critiqueing a scene in an old movie featuring Kevin Bacon and.. PAUL REISER.

This show is amazing and touching and all good things.

As the plans for the wedding continue with Mindy losing control, we finally meet the nasty mother. Sandy talks about dying scenes and it is a frightening and poignant address. We are set up for the last episode of Season 3.

Chapter 21

Warning: Spoilers
Norman's family is a good side comedy bit, but the final storylines for this show are underwhelming. The Douglas/Arkin bits made it work and without it it is just not the same.

Doctors without Borders? Really? I realize this was shown in the previous season with the horrible aged Kathleen Turner running around as if she were a young spry idealistic globe-trotting live-saver, but the female doctor bringing it up was just a bit too much. For what she said after she should have been fired, and then she could go to the border and vanish. And the "gives great head" joke that Turner says to Douglas... ugh! Disgusting! She's no ingenue to talk that way, and this isn't Romancing the Stone. But... it's an OK episode in an OK season. The whole Scientology thing, meanwhile, is good and bad. Good because finally Hollywood pokes fun at a religion other than Christianity, and bad because the whole setup of Arkin's grandson being a Scientologist isn't funny.
