Smile (2022)
Worst ending ever
I have just left the cinema and am completely bewildered with the ending. After her finally healing with from her trauma, it pulls a switcheroo on us and she ends up dying anyways.
The patience of everyone in the theatre was already stretched extremely thin from an overlong and tiring 100 minutes so the ending was a huge kick in the teeth. Why even show us that ending?
The first half was goofy, it made me laugh out loud a few times with some funny practical scares and character reactions, but it took itself way too seriously by the end and the premise of the movie had been used within an inch of it's life.
Certainly no smiles to be had at the end of this one, PASS.
The Orville: A Happy Refrain (2019)
10 for norm!
I've had mixed feelings on this show, but episodes like this are great. An insight into clashing culture! Seeing norm made me extremely happy also! My favourite comedian ever!
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (2021)
If it wasn't for bugs, it's a 10
Just too many bugs! Like cyberpunk; the gameplay and story are great! But it's let down by crashing and freezing that brings me back to reality and totally out of the experience...
No Sleep 'Til Christmas (2018)
Morally wrong
Unfunny, boring, and just downright wrong. This movie teaches you to practically cheat on your fiancée for 0 reason because there's some sort of connection? Ridiculous, shameful movie.
Hit-Monkey (2021)
PLEASE MAKE A SEASON 2
This show was a blast, there's so much potential with renewing this show! I really hope we see another season announced, I would love to see Bryce toy with his new abilities!
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
You know, I'm somewhat of a scientist myself!
Fantastic performances all round, great story and genuinely hilarious gags. This is clearly the work of a team of dedicated fans and it shows.
This is Spider-Man, bravo!
Ted Lasso: Beard After Hours (2021)
Something different, loved it
Great episode, don't always need drama to make a good show! A great homage and just as funny as ever!
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
A passable homage to vintage horror
I think it's a great idea with some hit or miss plot lines and characters. But I cannot stand Alice I think the actress did an awful job, almost made me switch it off.
The Kominsky Method: Chapter 21. Near, Far, Wherever You Are (2021)
Sudden change in character
Phoebe clearly started to be more humble at the end of season 2, why all of a sudden is she like a Harry and Marv act with Robbie trying to get Norman's money? Doesn't really make much sense, still a great episode filled with the regular witty humour and great emotional undertones.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Dinner Party (2020)
Jo sucks
Jo is never funny, actress does a fine job but the character is generally unlikeable.
Ted Lasso (2020)
Full of heart, charm and hope!
A really heart felt and hilarious series, carried gracefully by Sudekis' charm. Can't wait for another season.
Bad Trip (2021)
Eric Andre fans will love this
Absurdist comedy done right, great time and pretty hilarious!
Da 5 Bloods (2020)
Utterly moving, thought provoking masterful cinema.
This is possibly Spike Lee's most ambitious film to date, tackling themes in and around war and the troubles African American soldiers faced. He not only makes a fantastic, coherent story but he also manages to capture the film in a unique intriguing way, with aspect ratio changes and the changes from film to digital. The whole cast was excellent and I expect to see Oscar buzz surrounding Delroy Lindo promptly.
Space Force (2020)
Definitely potential but needs work.
The show is heartfelt and creates great characters, but it really isn't that funny. I think it would work if it changed it's image as a comedy and more to a drama with comedic elements. There's room to improve but it definitely needs to bring in better comedic writers if they plan to stay as a comedy.
Next Gen (2018)
Never lived up to its potential
Lacklustre script and plot that doesn't do the spectacular animantion justice, strong performances but an annoying main character that really dampens this movie's spark of wonder.
