The show doesn't feel the same without Arkin, but the laughs are still there and Douglas is a great lead. I'm enjoying seeing Turner's character getting more air time. Great acting and well developed storyline.

I have found myself being totally on Sandy's side. Those phony baloney kids of Norman's are awful. They have the worst qualities of human beings. Paul Rieser is a genuine soul and is just trying to move along. Mindy is too young for him and he understands that. Enter ex-wife and mom to try to sort things out. Sandy shows his loving side in his keeping Norman's wishes.

The storylines are really weak, but the show is still funny and that is all that really matters.

Paul Reiser is NO Alan Arkin

So Paul Reiser is the new Alan Arkin sidekick and he just doesn't have it. His character is forced. And seeing Kathleen Turner this way is sad. Romancing the Stone seems... well... a long, long time ago.
