I thought the first 30 minutes were pretty decent and even got me on the jumpscares sometimes. Going through the submarine felt very claustrophobic and I thought at least someone was going to die but then the episode just took a ridiculous turn with Strand almost killing Morgan (plot armour saves him though) and then they have the chance to kill the 3 baddies in Dakota, Riley and Teddy but just decide to let them go even after launching a nuclear missile. Am I missing something? The location was very unique as well as the story, would've given higher but the characters were so dumb it was beyond belief. Hopefully the finale redeems this episode.

Exciting, but a weird narrative?

I liked this episode. I dont know how anyone can rate it a 1, 2 3 or even 4 or 5. There are countless worse episodes than this, and this one is better than some of the others so far this season.
The episode kept me excited and engaged all the way through, there were a few points i'd like to make though, despite my high rating.
All these points bring down the episode for me, I feel like if we saw morgan escape, and there was more of an actual reason for strand to do what he did, as well as john dorie Sr going with them (maybe even helping morgan) allowing him to kill teddy in the front of the sub, etc. I would have given it higher ratings.

- The scene where everyone tells eachother that morgan isnt going in alone? Done it before, multiple times. The scene where morgan runs off? He's done it before, so have others. By this point in their community, we should be past these sacrificial narratives.
- Strand. Its definitely within strands character to do what he did, especially given how little he knows or has engaged with morgan before. Although it felt stupid, what confused me more is two specific scenes. They killed the radioactive walker off-screen. Why? Where did they get the cloth? The weapon? That was lazy. Secondly, Morgan escaped a pile-on just like carl, except, morgan probably survives. The thing is, morgan would have probably escaped that on-screen. There was room for him to move and kick, they just got lazy and skipped it.
- Is dakota dead? I hope so. If not, i cant believe she survived that scene.
- Morgan probably let teddy & co leave because they're dead anyway. But, realistically, its probably just so that John Dorie Sr can "do what he always should have done".

... but here is episode 15 in a nutshell: Morgan keeps two serial killers alive, one because it's a child and the second: because why not. JD Sr, June, Dwight and Sherry were all useless this episode. Victor and Morgan have to stop a missile from launching but just stop once every three minutes to chit chat. Victor betrays Morgan for literally no reason (and Morgan should have died). Teddy's people are nowhere to be found (and how did they get there without killing the walkers to begin with?). The whole episode was anticlimactic and stuffed with monologues and dialogues about fate and goals and sacrifice. The cast outside the submarine did nothing, and even stared and smiled at the missile instead of searching for Alicia.

The episode was interesting. I liked the colors and the cinematography. The stakes were relatively high. Also loved the group working together for a common goal.
On the other hand, I am disappointed. Most of the episode is Strand and Morgan walking in a submarine. Strand's decision to push Morgan into walkers was questionable at best. What did the writers think when they decided it was a good idea ? And one missile was launched. I applaud the stakes, but can't help but feel that this moment should have been much more impactful. It didn't quite hit the mark for me.
Still, a decent penultimate episode. I'm gonna give it an 8.6/10 for now.

Fear's penultimate episode contains what I love and hate about the new showrunners - cinematography and acting deserves praise

In a race against time to stop Teddy's plan, motives are revealed and convictions are tested as Morgan and his allies infiltrate and make their way through the beached submarine that holds the tools for Teddy's destruction. Without spoiling the penultimate episode, I'll say that its different than what we have seen before and it serves as a build up for the season finale, which I have high expectations for. For this episode though, it's nice to see the gang back together or at least most of them. Colman Domingo finally getting some much needed screen time again and he shines the most, I'm so happy that the writers can finally write for Victor Strand after not knowing how to in S4 and 5. Lennie James, Austin Amelio, Christine Evangelista, Jenna Elfman, Keith Carradine and Karen David. Their performances are all great and seeing them together, their characters, is a blessing now days.
Heather Cappiello directed "USS Pennsylvania" and I have nothing other than praise to give her, her direction and vision is great. There's also some nice camera work and incredible cinematography. The episode feels claustrophobic for one reason, it's filmed in close quarters inside a submarine or that's what my guess is. The sets seem real and the atmosphere in that location is insane. The 40 minutes went by fairly quickly, because of the suspension and action. Perfect and fitting music which kept the suspension going, the editing and pacing is a big factor for that too.
The penultimate episode isn't the best episode of the season but the character interactions between Morgan and Strand is one of the highlights. When we first learned about the submarine and the keys, and later Teddy's plan... I expected something entirely different in their confrontation but I was left both satisfied and dissatisfied, I liked the episode though, mostly of how unpredictable it was. Alicia Clark is only referenced in this episode and I felt that they robbed some character development there as it could have given her 5 minutes of screen time to show her state of mind before the season finale which could have developed the character immensely if done right. Episode 6.15 was great.

Don't get me wrong I did kinda like this episode. The first 3/4's were really strong and had some memorable moments. The problem lies in with the conclusion. Strand trying to sacrifice Morgan felt really out of nowhere and Morgan again letting the villains live just seems a bit absurd at this point. So overall, the first 75% and the ending of this episode were good but those parts imo didn't make all that much sense considering the circumstances they were under

This Episode begins with Morgan, he walks around at his settlement. Dakota gets interviewed by Teddy about Morgan and her mother. Morgan, June, Victor, Sherry and Dwight are going underground. Victor and Morgan found a poisoned walker in Teddy's headquarters. Victor fights with Morgan. Morgan gets attacked by walkers. Dakota shot Victor in his arm. Morgan saved Victor from dying. Morgan knocked down Dakota. Victor and Morgan reached Teddy's controlroom. Teddy launched a rocket. Solid Episode of Fear the Walking Dead Season 6, such a okay pre-final of this Season. Looking forward to the big final of Season 6!

Well, not to the season but to the episode. Maybe I was not thinking ahead and really didn't realize there was one more episode. I thought we'd have a well-produced journey, fighting through this submarine and our heroes would save the world in the nick of time---like I've seen done in movie and TV, thousands of times before.
But no. They failed. And now we wait. But TV has been going this dark and brooding road for a few years now. Fear and TWD have, yes, been killing off its cast members here and there, which has been new for TV. But this struck me as a surprise. Maybe it'll be a cheesy, last-moment save at the end of the season finale, who knows?
The unfortunate result of technology with shows like this and TWD is that they can quite easily present a quality production with little effort. Holds your attention when I should have abandoned both years ago in favor of better TV. But I get this far in and can't stop. Still an easy device on me to throw in a few close-call zombie attacks and killings. Also fell for the same redundancy with pro-wrestling for many years. Then the fever broke.
As for this episode, am puzzled why Victor sacrificed Morgan so easily. And of course Morgan would then save him from the murderous teen Charlie. (I do like the ruthless nature of Charlie as a character element, though.)

S6.E15 - Decent With Bad Writing Included [7/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S6. E15) My Reaction / Review for Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 15 ''USS Pennsylvania'': Episode 14 was good and I gave it a rating of 8.2/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Everybody united to stop Teddy's plan, I like that. Seeing everybody together like that is pretty badass. If the submarine is full of walkers then how did Teddy get inside without the walkers eating him? Did they split up? That's a bad idea, they should stay together. What the hell? Victor left Morgan back to die? Why? And Morgan survives like nothing happened. Wow, Teddy's plan actually worked and Morgan and Victor weren't able to stop him? That sucks. So Morgan doesn't kill Teddy and his man, what the hell is that? Overall a good episode but suffers from bad writing. My rating is 7/10.
As the characters navigate the claustrophobic confines of the submarine, tensions run high, leading to conflicts and difficult decisions

Teddy, Riley and Dakota prepare to launch the USS Pennsylvania's compliment of nuclear missiles, revealing that Riley was once the subs Weapons' Officer. Having been warned by Alicia, Morgan's group races to the Pennsylvania, finding the sub occupied by its reanimated crew while Luciana leads a smaller group to a Naval base in search of information to help them. Morgan, Strand, John, Grace, June, Dwight and Sherry fight their way through the sub, finding signs of an unknown catastrophe having befallen the crew, including one compartment with radiation levels indicating exposed radioactive material within despite the rest of the sub's radiation levels being safe.
Leaving the others behind, Morgan and Strand press on, but after getting cornered by walkers, Strand breaks Morgan's axe, stealing the head and leaves Morgan to fend off the walkers alone while he continues on. Strand is nearly killed by Dakota, but is saved at the last moment by Morgan who knocks Dakota unconscious. Using key cards recovered from the zombies, Morgan and Strand manage to enter the control room, but not before Teddy and Riley are able to launch one nuclear missile. The two reveal that the missile contains ten warheads all targeted on locations in Texas and can't be stopped. Morgan allows Teddy and Riley to leave and angrily blames Strand for their failure to stop the cult before sending him away as well.

The episode is filled with tense moments, shocking revelations, and powerful character development, making it a standout installment in the series.

As they navigate the claustrophobic confines of the submarine, tensions run high, leading to conflicts and difficult decisions. The submarine setting adds a unique and intense atmosphere to the episode, heightening the sense of danger and suspense.
One of the most memorable aspects of "USS Pennsylvania" is the exploration of the characters' moral compasses. As they face difficult choices and confront the consequences of their actions, viewers are presented with a complex and nuanced portrayal of morality in the post-apocalyptic world. This theme adds depth to the episode, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own beliefs and values.

Their emotional performances add a layer of depth to the episode, making the characters' struggles feel all the more real and relatable. Additionally, the episode's action sequences are expertly choreographed, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats throughout.

I loved this episode! Especially liked the setting by including a nuclear submarine in the series. Another good, unique addition to this universe. One of the things I have appreciated most about this season is the story itself, which is still very interesting. The End Is The Beginning group is completely erratic and unpredictable, making the experience intense and entertaining.
I think the writers are doing right to focus on the disagreements between Morgan and Strand. While the people always looked to Morgan, and saw him for the good man he is, he has never been the perfect leader. Deep down, I think he has always known that. Still, ever since he arrived in Texas, he has felt the urge to make up for his sins. Strand claims he looks after the group's best interests, but there is a high probability that Alicia is still his main priority. How will the events of this episode effect their friendship moving forward?
John Dorie Sr. Entry into the series has been good. He has a completely unique aura that fits into the show's western feel. Actress Keith Carradine should have a lot of credit for this, but there is something about his dark past and backstory around Teddy Maddox that spices up the story in a way that makes it even more exciting towards the finale. And as for the finale, it can not come out fast enough! The scene when Teddy and Riley launched the MIRV missile has to be one of my favorite moments from this show. They don't have much time left to figure out what to do next...

This week's episode was great!
I'd love that they wanted to stop Teddy's plan by getting to the submarine trying to stop the launching of the missiles.
I'd to add that some part of the episode doesn't have sense liken the part of the "radioactive walker" how can they be alive after being exposed to that amount of radiation?
I think that the series it's going to take a new and fascinating ending. Let's wait and see how this ends.

I don't understand some Characters
cbatukilic23 November 2021
I don't understand some characters actions. Sometimes I think they acting like so stupid... Like I said, for example I didn't get Strand and Morgan's actions on this episode. Sometimes they look like cool badasses but sometimes... oh my god they're so stupid. But in overall, this episode was a full pack thriller and I like it. This season is the best of the show.

Before you dislike my comment, please hear me out and at least respect that this is my opinion
This episode was by far one of the worst written, most of the episode could've been good and it started really well.
BUT: the characters were acting very out of character, making the weirdest decisions. The dialogue is TERRIBLE, it's just as bad as some in Season 4B and Season 5. It's so unrealistic and people don't speak normally.
The entire episode was mostly characters talking deeply about philosophy and hope, etc. It's very weird that two characters that are in a ticking clock situation are spending their time talking about morals rather than just going ahead and doing the mission.
I hope the finale is better. 6A was good but 6B is pretty weak.

"this ends now.........." But it never does.
"leave...." please!!!
All the things wrong with this series were present, including the above dialog, that foreshadows the real world of making this beached submarine of a show.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure what happened here. The promos made this look like it would be a very exciting episode, but it ended up being slow, clichéd, visually dull, and anticlimactic.
I don't even know where to start: Strand's one-note characterization, Morgan's highly inconsistent characterization, the horrible dialogue, the continutation of this season's conveniences, the emptiness of the supporting characters, the horrible, nonsensical ending with Morgan letting Teddy, Riley, and Dakota go...I could go on.
6B has taken on a rushed quality, perhaps to set up a massive time jump for season 7 to align it with the timeline of TWD. The Virginia storyline was cut way too short, and the End is the Beginning was simply too brief an arc to have any real stakes established. The group should've had an entire season's worth of narrative (The Holding was fascinating!).
Hopefully this was just a fluke and the finale will be better. The season has mostly been at least decent and far above what came before in seasons 4 and 5.
One thing: I do not see how there is anything left to do with Morgan Jones as a character. The writers have exhausted every avenue. I want him to leave this show in the finale. Just send him off to the CRM for the Rick Grimes movies and give us Alicia as the star and/or bring Madison back!
