Virginia the wolf

The best season's episode so far IMO with genuine situations and real relatable acting. Just, don't trust Virginia the wolf too much.

A Colby Minifie Magnum Opus
littlebizzare15 November 2020
The sixth installment of this brilliant season continues the pattern of brilliant episodes. This episode is reminiscent of the HBO show "Chernobyl" as it introduces many factors that was seen in that show. There are also smart nods to the past episodes of the show.

This show offers a lot of spotlight towards the female characters, particularly June, Ginny and Sarah. As well as continues the story of 604's "The Key" in subtle ways with Dillahunt's Dorie.

Nonstop action throughout the episode offers a feeling of intensity and a sense of dread for whats to come, as well as asks more questions about the antagonistic group that will surely be introduced in the future.

The episode delves into dark territory for Fear with many... many... deaths, an amputation. And it adds layers to characters many once found bland, especially June and Virginia.

Warning: Spoilers
Well Fear in my humble opinion is now 6-0. This was another banger of an episode. For me the standout quality was the cinematography. The scene where June and Virginia are trapped under rubble is beautifully shot and intense as hell throughout the scene. The entire conflict between June and Virginia was handled excellently this episode, with both actresses giving some really great performances, and us possibly glimpsing into another side of Virginia and how she thinks what she's doing is right. I kinda wished she died though. I'm glad to see Luciana again even if her role it very short and brief as well as Wendell and Sarah. John wasn't in it that much either but Garret Dillahunt was great as usual and the ending was real sad and a real emotional choice for John to make. The setting of the oil rig on fire and barrels exploding are probably the most beautiful piece of cinematography in the episode. Just the way that they covered the camera in little bits of oil and dirt was amazing. This season has truly improved vastly in production value and filmmaking.

Overall really good episode in one damn good season of Fear, and I can't wait to see how the mid season finale wraps up this first half to probably one of the best comebacks I have ever seen from a show

Final rating: 8.9/10

Didn't expect this episode with June, Luciana and Sarah to be my favorite episode of the season. My God, was I wrong. "Bury Her Next To Jasper's Leg" was super intense, almost felt like a season finale! What a turnaround for Fear The Walking Dead. 10/10.

The comeback story of a lifetime!
Exodus23315 November 2020
The sixth season of Fear The Walking Dead has been an incredible journey so far. Episode 6 made it even better. Solid acting performances, intense action sequences and great cinematography.

This could very well have been a worthy midseason finale, makes me wonder what will go down next week. Season 6 is definitely on track to become the best season of the show. Biggest surprise on television in 2020.

5 out of 5 stars.

Great episode. Action packed. Character driven. And wow. As characters run to the oil mill after an explosion. Virginia trying to figure out if its a threat from an unknown group out there. Great episode. John and Junes development about leaving is well done and emotional.

Best episode of the season and one of the best episodes out of all three shows in the last few years! Brilliant drama, action and character development! I haven't been a fan of Virginia's character but this was a flawless and convincing performance. June, John and Sarah showing great development and the plot feels like it's really moving forward! This season has been unreal

S6.E6 - Virginia's Hand [7.5/10]
panagiotis19939 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S6. E6) My Reaction / Review for Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 6 ''Bury Her Next to Jasper's Leg'': Episode 5 was good and I gave it a rating of 7.6/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. So June is able to do surgery on this guy just by looking at a book? That's so dumb. No Victor and no Alicia once again? Also no Morgan and no Dwight? Come on! So John still wants to leave Lawton behind. Will June go with him though? Virginia is so annoying, I cant wait for her to die. A walker bit Virginia? That's great news! June cut off Virginia's hand? That's brutal. I knew that June wouldnt wanna follow John. Overall a good episode, my rating is 7.5/10.

Chop my hand off please

Continuing the 'makes no logical sense' tangent established 3 seasons back the poor cast had to wade through another jumbled mess of random thoughts spat into a script.

Virginia is a mess. She's a too be feared nasty force, commanding a powerful army of henchmen yet she turns up to every bit of trouble with a couple of middle aged wingmen like she's got nothing better to do with her time like run a complex large empire. They've written her as a 2 dimensional 'baddie' and now after many episodes of running her like that they're trying to add some shade no one's going to buy.

This show continues to make as much sense as the 25 paid review writers who read from the spec sheet and most likely haven't and don't watch the show we suffer through.

I feel sorry for some really good actors, turning in good performances only to have their characters suffer through this jumbled mess. Colby Minifie??? isn't one of them. she hasn't etched out anything worthwhile for her character yet, although she was handed a train wreck of an idea to start with. let's get a tiny woman in an aussie outback outfit and make out she's an evil force to be reckoned with. No one's buying that.

It's thinning out in here. Just 25 paid pr team members and a couple of stragglers, everyone else has headed for the door.

Warning: Spoilers
People always keep telling "This is the best epsiode yet" after the new drops. But they are right. This epsiode has season final quality in my opinion. Star of this episode are really the outstanding set design and cinematography. Seriously I cant believe this is a show in its 6th season and with 2 prior bad seasons. When June is talking to Virginia in the cabin with that bright red orange light in the backround, it could have been a scene from an arthouse movie (I watch a lot of them) Speaking of which if you didnt like June or Virginia, you can finally fully appreciate their characters. I wanted the episode to go much longer because it was so good. I really hope Fear gets renewed for more seasons and keeps that quality. This season has the potential to be better than the main show.

Suspenseful day at the oil fields, memorable acting and overall fantastic episode
Holt34416 November 2020
Here in this episode, Bury Her Next to Jasper's Leg, we get to follow characters we haven't seen this season and some that's been featured less than others. John and June Dorie, Luciana, Sarah, Wendell and Wez. It's nice to see them again and the oil fields from season 5 makes a return. Sharat Raju directed this episode and I loved the visual storytelling and his direction was superb.

The story of this episode is simple, an explosion at the oil fields makes June and her friends drive down there to help everyone whilst Virginia wants to find out what caused it, and what follows is some phenomenal acting from the actors and it's female led characters. I don't want to spoil anything except for the main events, but it's very well done... the whole production of the episode, I read a review that it felt a bit like Chernobyl and I agree it was visually stunning from the cinematography to the lightning and effects that were used. It truly felt like a huge explosion and hell on earth that I guess an explosion will cause at a oil field. The medical scene in the beginning with June was simply amazing and kept me on the edge of my seat, there were many scenes throughout the episode that were suspenseful. But it was a fantastic and suspenseful beginning to a superb episode.

I want to take some time to go through the acting in this episode and character development. June and John had the most character development but we got to see how much Sarah have changed and grown as a person, finally someone you can root for. Virginia had a lot of character development that might change your perspective on her but honestly she's a great villain in this season and fantastically played by Colby Minifiez, her performance along with Jenna Elfman as June was the highlights of this episode. I wanted more of Luciana, but the writers still have no clue what to do with her or to write good dialogue for her, that's one thing the writers in season 3 knew how to do.

Overall a fantastic episode, visually impressive and chaotic. The scenes at the oil fields is spectacular and some you'll remember for a long time.

Colby Minifie steals the show!
hnt_dnl21 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I went into this episode expecting it to be June centric and it basically was, at least in theory. But I went out of this episode realizing that it was really a Virginia/Ginny episode and I was frankly thankful for that as I'm not much of a fan of June's character. The plot of this episode is that the mysterious "End is the Beginning" cult has sabotaged Ginny's oil field operation which leads to a fatal explosion, so June is enlisted to go in and save lives. Ginny herself shows up to investigate, identify and eliminate who she believes to be a traitor. Colby Minifie really delivered in this one as she brilliantly relayed Ginny's growing paranoia, fear, and desperation. For the first time, Virginia feels vulnerable and relatable. After Season 5, I feared that Ginny was destined to be the worst villain in this show's history and through really good writing and persuasive, within a few episodes of Season 6, she's become one of the best. I had to give this episode 1 less star, though, for several weak characters, mainly Wes and Sarah, who I hope the show loses sooner than later. Also, sadly I have to include Luciana as a weak part of this one. She has done nothing on this show since her return way back in Season 4. Don't know why she still exists. June herself was OK, but that was mostly due to sharing most of her scenes with Ginny. Hats off to Colby Minifie in this one.

It'll take the edge off
gregoraitken14 February 2022
I've stopped this episode half way through to write this .

I've given 3 stars as I am going to watch it all and will probably watch the rest of FTWD until the end it .

It is so awful though . I'm trying to think of one redeeming thing and I can't . It's so bad and probably always has been .

I hope there's some pay off at some point but I've been hoping that for a long time now .

All I find myself doing is thinking "what would Funny or Die say about this scene?" It's like a humourless parody of its self .

There is absolutely no threat anymore, a bit like what happened with TWD , none of the main characters ever get killed or bitten now .

It's so terrible but I'll continue watching so there must be something, I just can't think for the life of me , what it is ??????

Choices and dilemmas
tristan_1916 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love how they had the characters go through dilemmas during the episode. First of all, do you save Virginia or not ? Can she tone down her aggressive leadership ? And then, do you risk staying at the community for your loved one despite it affecting your mental well-being or do you take your chances out there ?

John and June really shined in this episode, and the mystery continues on who are the people writing everywhere and threatening the group. Explosion effects were also top notch. Also, to truly appreciate the episode, don't miss the ending with the great cinematography showing John and June going separate ways. Can't wait to see what the next chapter brings for these characters, and looks like we'll get Alicia and Charlie back next week !

Great episode
ycpxuqtk15 November 2020
Despite the abrupt ending and unsteady pacing at parts, this was a really solid episode. June finally feels like a real person again--one worth rooting for, not one you hope dies. Colby Minifie put in her best performance yet in this episode. I just wish the episode had been longer and that certain moments had been given more space to breathe, like those between June and John and June, Luciana, and Sarah. Luciana is still mostly a hollow character. Please kill her or make her interesting again.

FTWD S06 is better than TWD S07-10 all together!
secret_arash29 November 2020
I just wonder why they didn't start this in the second half of season 4. Whatever change they have made this season, could have saved the show from the disasters of the previous seasons. Everything is great. The acting, the cinematography, directing, everything! Well done! I've never enjoyed the TWD universe this much in the past 4 years. Brilliant.

A lot with a little...
songod-9500317 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Half the featured cast has hardly been in an episode. From my experience that means they did not get paid. However, since their names are on the credits, when the show goes into syndication they'll get a royalty.

Unless there is a "pay or play" deal... That is usually for movies not for episodic TV.

The shows is doing quite well tho with it's minimal regulars. Better than last season and the second half of the prior. I started watching this when Morgan crossed over to it so I dunno how it was before that. Just know the first 8 with Morgan was very good and the back 8 very bad with the bad continuing into the next season.

This season seems so far to be getting it right. A nice change would be for Ginny to turn out to NOT be the bad!

However, the monkey in the works, Exec Producer Scott Gimple, is still there... lurking... ready to strike with the inane BS he struck TWD and all the above I mentioned. HE nearly destroyed TWD; and did seriously cripple FTWD. The latter is getting its legs back... so lets hope the back 8 keeps Mr. Gimple locked in a closet.
