Why don't these characters, who live in a world where magic exists, take legends and superstition more seriously?

I've been told about Merlin by a few friends, so I watched season 1 on Netflix. It was pretty good, but it got boring for a few episodes, but I kept at it. The episodes were mediocre, and kind of repetitive, but this episode is great!
"The Labyrinth of Gedref" is a breath of fresh air in a middling series. It's original, and finally ups the stakes. This episode is the best episode of the whole season and it gets the rating that it deserves. It was finally what my friends were saying about how good this show is. "The Labyrinth of Gedref" is finally the great episode that I was looking for, and I hope the rest of the show is just like this.
8.3/10, its worth a watch!

I think seasons Season 1 and 2 are the best of Merlin, and the UNICORN episode is peak. It simply does not get any more epic than the Labyrinth. Arthur is as ignorant as possible regarding magical superstition, yet he still manages to outwit Merlin at the end. I love these characters so much. You can always rely on the duo to fill your heart with their bromance. I love the wizards costume and I love how cheap the "unicorn" looks XD. So much charm in this show.
Arthur being so casual in the face of death is one of my favourite aspects of the show, arguably even more admirable than Merlin. Constantly willing to die for his kingdom and his friends.
