Really enjoyable

This is the best episode in a long while. It's great seeing Auntie Wainwright getting some good screen time away from the shop. Howard's plan to disguise himself in Tom's race suit provides some great laughs and some hilarious cases of mistaken identity.

Highly recommended.

The simple plans are the best.

Howard has a pretty elaborate plan do escape the house, and spend some quality time with his flame, Marina.

I wonder of The Stig was pretty popular around about this time, of Top Gear?

It is a pretty amusing episode, Clarke is definitely going to the well now in every single episode, the never ending saga of Howard trying to escape to the arms of Marina, it is of course the funny element here once again.

You of course know what's coming, and the inevitable jokes about mixed up identities, but who cares, it's funny.

I did thoroughly enjoy the opening scenes, they should have made more of the dynamic between Alvin and Nora Batty, he literally brings the best out of her, unseen since The Compo years.

7/10.

I do wonder if The Stig was an inspiration for this episode.

Howard has a brainwave to dress as a biker in a helmet. This way Pearl will never know especially as he gets Tom as a decoy.

Only for everyone to mistake Howard as Tom which includes Auntie Wainwright who takes him to deal with an aggressive customer who owes Auntie some money.

Meanwhile Glenda is stuck with a woman that she went on a trip with and she will not shut up.

I actually liked Glenda and Barry having to deal with the woman who talked non stop.

Howard's story is just another variation of a plot device that has already been done to death.
