Even better than Part 1

First episode was good this episode is better. It improves basically everything important about this 30 for 30 story. We move onto Lance's retirement and then him returning. Floyd Landis wins the year Lance retires, but steroids are found in his system. So he's banned and returns when Lance finally returns. But Lance and his new team tell Landis that he cannot join them as they then won't be invited to Tour de France. Landis gets angry at the world and reveals all the doping. In USA an investigation takes place and they have a system where you HAVE TO tell the truth in a deposition. You cannot avoid speaking or lie. This is a system that has many holes in it actually. These depositions tend to come out at some point and at times are even used against the people who made them even though that's illegal. Lance refuses to admit his cheating, but all his former teammates do. Finally the lawsuits arrive. Lance basically loses everything as he is sued left and right regularly. He goes on Oprah to admit his doping as he understands that he cannot lie in future depositions as that is a criminal act in some cases.

There is a lot more emotional appeal in this episode. The first one was about his childhood and career. This is about the EPO and scandal which was always what this lead up to. We barely see anything about his actual racing or his wins in these 2 episodes. So this episode is better as the editors finally get to their message. It's all about the lie and very little about the cycling which is a shame as they all took EPO so the playing field was equal for them. Also, the other dopers weren't kicked out of the history books even though their doping allegations are proven too. I guess you get punished harder when you win the Tour 7 times. Lance gets into this, but overall the 30 for 30 interviewer seems to dislike him. Which does create a nice critical story overall and Lance can handle it.

I strongly recommend The Armstrong Lie from 2013 that is even better. But I liked this one too as we see his kids and wife. And we learn more about his friends and personality. It feels like a close look at his life. A bit... pointless maybe, but still engaging.
