Brilliant, but will leave you feeling disgusted!

I havnt felt this incensed by a tv programme in a long time. Beautiful story telling about an absolutely rotten and despicable subject. I think we can all agree someone needs to slap that smug look off Tonya Barina's face!

Heartbreaking

This is one of those episodes where the evil has not met it's fate. The protectors of law are the ones which are abusing it. This episodes makes you horribly sad about America, which is the only supposed utopian society if any left on Earth.

Thought provoking docu-series: this episode rips your heart out!

Warning: Spoilers
This is an eye opening series of documentaries. All of them are really well done. This one in particular rips your heart out. Of all of the villains we meet throughout the series these guardians are the MOST vile to me because of the close personal contact that have with the people they are robbing.

Nothing prepares you for how heartbreaking this episode is.

Hopefully we can channel our anger to make some change. I can't believe this is real.

THIS DOES HAPPEN EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK
theoehlers-4141224 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
OTHER THAN 3 STATES IN THE UNION THAT ARE STARTING TO RECTIFY THIS UNGODLY PRACTICE, THIS HAPPENS EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. MY MOTHER GOT CAUGHT UP WITH A TRUSTEE FROM THE COURT PANEL. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF HOURS RESEARCHING CASES FROM ALL OVER THE STATES. THIS MOVIE SHOWS HOW A PERSON FROM A PANEL THAT IS SIGNED UP WITH THE COURT, CAN COME IN AND TAKE COTROL OF A ELDERLY PERSON'S LIFE, EVEN IF THEY HAVE A FAMILY. THEN THIS PERSON TAKES ALL OF THE OLD PERSON'S PROPERTY AND PITS IT IN THEIR NAME.... I AM NOT KIDDING THAT IS HOW THEY DO IT AND IT IS LEGAL. WATCH THE MOVIE " I CARE TOO MUCH". IT IS EXTREME, BUT IT IS SPOT ON. WE WERE VERY, VERY LUCKY TO GET OUT FROM UNDER THIS PERSON. SHE GOT CONTROL ON OCT.6. WE TRIED TO FIRE HER IN FEB, BECAUSE MY MOTHER HAD OBTAINED HER SERVICES WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT. BUT THIS WOMAN SAID MY MOTHER WAS NOW INCOMPETENT, AND TRIED TO GET A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST ME. BUT AS I SAID WE WERE REAL LUCKY AND HAD ACCESS TO A SUPER STAR ATTORNEY, AND GOT RID OF THE TRUSTEE BY MAY 1. IN SEVEN MONTHS WHEN SHE HAD TO SIGN THE ASSETS BACK OVER, THERE WAS OVER 200K LESS, AND SHE TRIED TO KEEPS MONEY MARKET ACCOUNTS AND LIFE INSURANCE- TRUE STORY.

An incomplete and distorted view of guardianships
contactberkmosk16 April 2020
While this episode does portray the unfortunate and heartbreaking reality that occurs in SOME GUARDIANSHIP cases, it is by no means the norm. The episode totally fails to disclose that numerous states, such as Arizona where I practice elder law, has numerous protections to avoid the kind of unfortunate things that appear to have occurred in the cases that are depicted in this show. I realize that the series is "Dirty Money," there should have been a least a brief mention that this show portrays a small minority of cases. Numerous people truly need and are greatly benefited by guardianships and conservatorships.
