I cried a barrel of tears!!
crow17011 April 2020
I have read the other reviews about how this episode is a game changer for the show, and it definitely is; however, wow wow wow! The writers didn't just want you to just cry they wanted to pull your heart out and chuck it out a window and say, "You won't be needing this!!"

This is a bold statement, but I would venture to say this is one of the finest hours of television I have seen in many years. The writers will have their hands full next season to deal with the problems created with this episode; however, just sit back with some tissues and....oh wait.....there are no tissues....stupid virus!! Just use an ol' rag and cry till your heart explodes!!

Perfect finale
a0091954717 November 2020
Im not happy with the ending, but boy, that was extremely good to feel something, they did their job(the writers)... We are all feeling something, this was a punch to the face.

Many will not like it, but many more are gonna love it.

Season finale and I'm done
alex327717 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
These last two episodes have been the worst. I mostly don't care about the love stories in these series, but when they get ridiculous I stop watching said TV shows. It went all well as the Good Doctor was in a relationship with Dr. Carly Lever. His progression was believable, his actions also and it was cute to see them toghether overcoming the obstacles. The break-up was already a little weird, but to pair him with Lea Dilallo AND declaring their mutual "love" just outright annoyed me. Like others already said, you watch the developement of characters about 3 seasons and suddenly Dr. Melendez death and the pairing of Lea and Shaun breaks it all up and not in a good way imo. I was more interested in the cases they had to solve and to check them with reality, but the whole cast around that made it easy to watch. There was a nice flow that is now interrupted. I have no intention to wait until that flow is on again.

A Large Hawk Landed on My Toe

It surprised me. I guess I never saw it coming. I pleaded for mercy. The hawk--it did not care. It just stared up at me, laughing at my feeble pain.

Good but not good

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was amazing! But what I didn't see comming was an important character to die. Why did they have to kill Dr Melendez from the show?! Why?! I cried my eyes out until I got a headache. Can't imagine the series without him.

I have to talk about this finale
cameronjames-8695931 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So the good doctor season 3 finale happened and I did enjoy it a lot the acting was great as usual and it really delivered on the heart breaking and emotional scenes but I don't know where they can go from this because they just killed off doctor Melendez a huge part of the story and that is a big deal because he is a big part of these residents careers but now he's just dead and I'm hoping they don't do the oh he's not dead he was actually really alive thing because if they do it'll basically ruin this episode but it'll also go against the realism factor this show has and I'm sorry but if they do bring him back they are losing one of their viewers. But there is also something I hated about this finale and that's how Shawn and lea got toghter and yes that completely pisses me off because lea has said so many times I don't think we can be toghter and this can never happen but oh Shawn almost dies and now all of a sudden love him I'm sorry what this can't be true and honestly shouldn't be true and it kinda ruins those other episodes because oh lea loves him now. But now the big thing is where can they go from this because doctor resnek 1. can't do surgery any more because she screwed up her hands helping a someone even though her hands weren't healed yet. 2. Doctor park confirms that he is leaving to be closer to his family so that's another doctor leaving. And 3. We just lost a really really important character named doctor Melendez so yeah season 4 is gonna be really interesting in terms of what they are gonna do with it but I'm sorry I really don't know where there gonna go with this and I kinda just wish this was the series finale because they kinda back them selves into a corner with what they did in this finale

The Last Straw
LodgeDweller24 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
They teased for weeks that not everyone would survive this episode. The way the previous episode ended, it was obvious to me they were killing off poor Dr. Melendez. It was a stupid move made by a creative team that has lost all creativity and credibilty. Melendez was a great character they'd terribly underutilized. The actor did not ask to leave. This was done for shock value.

The ridiculous tragedy and handling of Neil Melendez's death isn't the only issue here. The earthquake was ridiculous. The firefighters doing nothing was a joke. The fact that only a small area was bothered by a big earthquake was laughable. Shaun and Lea getting together felt forced and wrong. It would have been less ludicrous for Shaun to start up a relationship with Vera's amputated leg. This is coming from someone who likes Lea. Wonderfully acted, but a horrible story.

They do a fine job of writing Park out, but according to the brilliant man behind this mess (David Shore), Park isn't necessarily leaving. Morgan's hands are destroyed. Claire suffers yet another loss. Claire and Audrey's brief scene at the end where they grieve a man they both cared for felt more like two people sharing remorse that they were late for the bus. This is not the fault of the wonderful actresses, they did great but the writing was awful.

I adore the cast, but I will not be watching due to the poor writing that has plagued the show strongly since midseason. If I want to watch something so contrived, it better be something fun to watch. This is not fun. This is not good drama or good storytelling.

Warning: Spoilers
I won't spoil but they killed off a major character. I would rather they didn't but it made the episode that much more emotional which I guess was what they were after. The scenes with the trapped boy as well were just as emotional. This is not a 10/10 episode technically but I'm voting based on how emotive it was. Here's to Claire and Shaun at some point, not a fan of Lea!

Great ending for a good season
Mr_Masterjones31 March 2020
This was a heartbreaking yet very strong episode of the series. Understand this, when a show can do this to its audience, make them to really feel for the characters, makes them touched and then makes them heartwarming at the end, that's the type of show I wanna watch and very much eager to know what happens next.

Yes, I know to many are concerned about all the characters that supposedly gonna leave the show, but of course some of them definitely are not gonna be on the show anymore like Dr Melendez, but others, We dont know for sure that arent gonna be in the show anymore. There are to many possibilities that actually could go down and We dont know for sure until next season airs, but with a great artist like "David Shore" and what He has done before on this show and before that in House, Im pretty sure what We about to seen in the next season, its mesmerizing.

One of the things I personally thinks that Its going to happen, is that, Were gonna have a time jump in next season, I dont think their gonna picked up where they left off. With this technique, They could definitely expand the story and introduce some new characters and continue to complete the story of the great old characters.

But something that I know for sure, that this show were magnificent to this point and have no doubt thats not gonna disappoint us.

I understand killing of Mendez was a bit too much, especially since there was so much for him to explore as a character. On another note it was a great finale with a beautiful moment at the end!

Tearjerker & unexpected turns...
juliaandjackthecavalier11 December 2021
I really enjoyed this 2-part conclusion to this season. I understand that some characters may be more likable/popular than others but I do think this final had a fair & relatively suitable storyline for everyone.

I am gutted that one of my favs won't be in the show anymore but his departure is extremely well written. Park was phenomenal, I like him anyway but he really blew me away. And Shaun with his "patient" also really drew me in. Same with the nurses, I like all of them and wish we could have seen more of them as they added a little bit of comic relief. I also think the setup with the earthquake was well-chosen because its not too distracting but allows for a fitting backstory.

I tend to cry/tear up at most episodes for this show, but never have I cried so much. Truly enjoyed this finale although it is very bitter-sweet.

Unbelievable
naomimuldrew279 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I've gave it 5 simply because it's a brilliant episode that I would normally give 10 to, but killing off Neil Melendez was NOT cool!!! The whole season, weve watched his friendship with Claire turn into something else, waited with baited breath on the two of them getting together, only for him to finally tell her he loved her and then die!!! I cried my eyes out. I know its only a programme, but I'm truly devastated!!

Simple writing, amazing actors
23Marcel11 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, (besides the horrible ending) this episode was great. Massive character development, and amazing plot development (cutting off legs, Shawn and Lea getting together, Dr. Reznick losing the abilities in her hands, etc...) made a great episode...

But let's talk about the 'big thing'... I get it... Dr. Melendez died. I understand writers killing of main cast (for whatever the reason may be), but using tricks like "I love my boss" 2 episodes before he is being killed is just bad writing. The writers just wanted to give more impact without getting creative. Well guess what, they succeeded. I am done with the show.

I do want to be clear here. At no point I am blaming any of the actors, as the acting was absolutely amazing. It's just the writers that decided they don't care about the characters at all, and wanted to go home at 5PM instead of spending some extra time making it great.

Because of the amazing acting and the great plot twists I am still giving it a 6 out of 10.

I always loved the mix of politics and unique characters, so this is what I will remember the show for. I will keep recommending this show to everyone I know (up to season 3). But for any fans still loving the show, I am truly hoping the next season fixes all of underwhelming writing. I just know that I won't be around for it.
