Jack, Ianto, Tosh and Owen arrive at abandon factory. They split up in two trying to catch aliens but instead each one of them finds a bomb. When they all simultaneously go off, it is up to Gwen to save them. The only problem is that Gwen overslept and received massage later. When she found Jack trapped in ruins first, he was angry because she came with Rhys. While Toshikos arm was possibly broken, and Ianto shoulder has been dislocated, Owen was the only one in real danger, stuck in a concrete rubble looking at the glass window that is falling from a celling closer and closer to him. The story focuses on how each member of the team was recruited to Torchwood. The most cruel story was Toshikoes it resembled a lot like Orwels 84. Jacks story showed how he from a mercenary waiting to find Doctor again stayed near the rift hoping it will take him, but then he met the two very persuasive members of Torchwood. It was probably the most interesting piece of episode watching how as time goes by Jack becomes the key figure in Torchwood and eventually recruits others. Ianto starts as a disappointed member of a destroyed Londons Torchwood. But I liked the fact that he seemed to be a trained operative, rather then getting to that position by having a fling with Jack. Owens story was the most bizarre one. I don't know what was more strange the fact that he had a fiancé or that she was suffering from Aleichem's disease. Owen genuinely looked in love with the girl. So there was someone he loved before Diane came briefly into his life. The most interesting scene was the one with pterodactyl trapped in a hangar, while Jack and Ianto tried to catch him. It did looked a lot like the one from BBC series "Walking with dinosaurs". In their stories, including the one about Jack they all looked miserable, with shattered lives and joining Torchwood saved them all or it seemed like the only solution. Why ?
