Decent

This was an okay episode. There are clever moments, especially Marge dealing with a modern mommy. However, the general story isn't that memorable. The second song just felt like it was just a time filler.

Good until the end

The horrendous Queen/'Best Friend' ending literally took my whole view of this episode down a whole bunch of points, because, as a Simpsons apologist, it was the worst thing I've seen in thirty years of the show; and it was only two minutes long. The show needs to evolve beyond stupid stuff like this. Pretty sad because the previous episode was the funniest of the season.

A funny and heartwarming episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode prove that the Simpsons can still put out good stories and The Incredible Lightness of Being a Baby was no different. Maggie relationship with Hudson was nice and the subplot with Cletus was great too. The most funny part of the episode was when mr. Burns got electrocuted and he did deserve it which makes it more funny and also ONE OF THE BEST COUCH GAGS OF ALL TIME!

Too Short for the main plot

When Maggie falls in love with Hudson they had a great time until Marge forces Maggie to break up with Hudson because his mom is being annoying. Later Marge told Maggie she misses Hudson's Birthday Party and she got angry with marge and after that She found him at the playground. The Reason I was mad about this episode After the Break up The B plot was wasting time almost the whole thing, Also They cut all the scenes when Maggie suffering depression and that one scene when Homer got drunk in Maggie's room it was also cut. Why they cut all the good stuff WHY!

A wiser Cletus is born: less concentrated, better hillfolk representation, just as hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
The episode has the clear and topical theme of reconciliation in both Homer and Marge's subplots.

Cletus's character is de-concentrated by emphasizing his hard work and folksy wisdom, making him truly likable while retaining the over-the-top redneck humor. This could be taken as a well-done apology by the writers for the one-dimensional stereotypes in Cletus' character. Rather than being polarized against each other, the urban and suburban slob team up to thwart Mr Burns, for both their benefit, in a beautiful moment of friendship over greed which deserved the parody song it was given.

The episode ends with a beautiful image of rural america, after marge's last words about compromising and older folks having to pretend to get along for the sake of younger generations. This portents the majesty of the america that we could have if partisan hyperpolarization were put aside, and working folks all got together to help each other.

The fact that the episode is able to push a preachy and political (though correct) message without causing a massive triggering is a testament to the continuing genius of the simpsons: whether sentimental, political, or abstract, the show conveys deep concepts, just when the world needs them, while making the viewer feel like they are doing nothing more than watching a wacky sitcom.
