Starts off with a couple of idiot kids being utterly irresponsible in their driving running over someone. Naturally, their first instinct is not to call the police, but to record their reactions to post on social media so they can use that as a stepping stone to get into a college.
From there we go into a series of murder investigations. All the usual plus a few more red herrings.
This is not a great episode, but it isn't a terrible one.

Warning: Spoilers
"In a Nutshell" has a very intriguing premise. There are parts of the story, which are excellent, but some elements did not work very well at all.
Let's start with the good aspects.
. The production values of the episode are great. The direction's pretty good, so is the acting. The music fits the scenery too.
. As said, the premise is interesting. There are some good twists along the way. Did like the examination of what would happen to a person losing the parents or to a detective, who has not solved an important case.
But...
. The subplot about donations was not very interesting. Did think the solution was too easy - I would have liked to learn more about the case that was not solved for years. There are parts of the mystery, which are stupid indeed, for instance the annoying pretitle sequence.
Overall, a mixed bag.
5/10 HK.
