Some interesting things behind the scenes of "Christmas in Conway"
SimonJack13 October 2022
The video short about the making of "Christmas in Conway" has the usual interviews with cast and crew members. Besides the five leads in the film, it has interviews with the director, John Kent Harrison and writer Stephen Lindsey. Jim Birdsall narrates. Riley Smith, who plays Tommy Harris in the movie, has the best, succinct description of the feature film. He says, "It's got a lot of heart. It's got a lot of soul."

The most interesting thing in this video made for the DVD release, is the information about the 45-foot Ferris Wheel. In the movie, Duncan Mayor finds an old, still running but parts-raided Ferris Wheel at a closed down amusement park in a nearby town in South Carolina. That's where the story takes place. But, as the narrator says, they found the Ferris Wheel "a thousand miles away in Iowa."

Paul Myers, of Ferris Wheel Techcom, is in the video. He explains that the filming of the Ferris Wheel for the movie was shot in reverse - as they disassembled it. Another interesting thing I found was a coincidence. The Ferris Wheel was in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and that's where actor Riley Smith was born.
